Thanks all for your replies. I have just checked and yes the 'flash' switch does push down as well as back - I knew it would be simple!

Ye, its not obvious. I did it on my 1299 when I first got it and couldnt figure out how to turn high beam off. Its a nice solution really, just wished i'd known it also.

I'm pleased you found the right way, I was going to say flick the LH switch forward, exactly as my 1260 does now, not down! Doh and I did have a 2014 Pikes Peak....
