If you need a new photo you can't do online but you can do at these post offices that have a biometric camera (just as cheap as using a booth) UK Driving License Photocard Renewal | Post Office
did not like my ipad this afternoon either........ not my lucky day!! b'stard process, makes me put all the info in, and then crashes just after the last email confirmation needed.
The William Hill site can't do Safari, but no problem with Firefox. As I discovered trying to bet on the National, once I'd been pointed in the right direction. Maybe DVLC site is the same.
if stopped you will be done for driving with an out of date licence not for driving with no licence. its like riding a bike with an expired mot,you will still be insured. if stopped its a £60 fine
also if your licence expires you don't have to resit your test as your entitlement to drive is still valid.( this all may be balls )
Pop to local big post office. It is a five minutes job. Because the DVLA is in Wales there is a good chance they will mess up new licence and you will lose bike entitlement. You could lose you old licence on way to PO so you have proof in case they mess it up.
Surely reaching a certain age and passing certain tests means that you are entitled to apply for a driving licence - it does not mean you are "entitled to drive". It is only having been issued with a valid driving licence which entitles you to drive.
It's a good idea to take some good photocopies of your driving licence (both parts) showing all your entitlements, just in case of later errors or disputes.
I just applied ticking the box that my licence was "Lost" I got the new one with full entitlement. If it came back with any entitlements missings, I may have found my original copy to question them.
My licence was similarly lost when I applied at the nearest main post office. I was expecting some searching questions on how and when it was lost, but "I can't find either either part" was all that was required.
good point.but once your licence is issued and not revoked but only out of date you wont be done for driving with no license but driving with an out of date licence (£60 fine ).I think
I have an old pink one... Never had an issues with it abroad. Its still valid, it proves I'm me and as you have to carry a passport anyway....but I did read somewhere these were soon to be short-termed, ie even if valid, as mine is until 2039, it will actually become void and a new style one will be needed. Wonder if DVLA will bother writing or its another thing we are meant to just know and find out about ourselves
