899 Heres Some More Pics Of The Bike Almost Complete! Fitted The Gold Corse Stickers What Do You Think?

  1. I did a bit of research, most new vehicles should be delivered with approx. 5-10 miles on the clock.
This allows for movement from factory to transporter, from transporter to dealership and then a test ride by dealer after they have prepped the bike (normally approx. 5miles).
I know they didn't take mine on a test ride (they told me so), and in fact the mileage on mine was from wheeling it back and forth from parking bay to work bench. Also when they delivered it Saturday it was still unregistered.
Some dealers are reluctant to test ride this time of year because of the crap on the roads. So @smorgan46 you may be lucky and be the first to actually ride yours.
I think some dealers once testing has taken place can reset the odometer to 0.
So Mr @Topolino they may have test rode yours but reset back to 0.

Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things apart from it is nice to be the first person to physically ride the bike.

  2. Yep ive been looking for a while for the same thing.

My 899 had 7 miles on it when I got it.

  3. On a ford you can reset the mileage up to 150 miles. As many times as you want.

  4. I'm being serious. It's so we can test drive them, Pdi them and move them about. Nobody wants a new car with miles on so there's a reset which can be done upto 150 miles. Not telling you how though lol

  5. Ford is part of the lifestyle group so I am assuming they are all the same

  6. I have ordered the rizoma black fluid tanks and got the black cnc caps

  7. Looks nice,a nice little mod is to change the standard rear indicators for the 1199 led ones they are a lot smaller and are plug and play,Ohlins should be your next gold upgrade ;)

  8. Already done the indicators they were fitted yesterday the bike just needs the road test then a can bring it home! Id love the ohlin rear shock but after all ive spent on the bike and a new helmet new leathers and new boots the shock will have to wait although i do wanna get the suspension set up for me !

  9. The rear shock on the 899 is low budget as is the steering damper, ohlins ttx is a great upgrade so start saving,bp front forks aint to bad,i should have the front r&t forks on mine by now but some c@@t decided to get a tin opener to my van and nick all my tools,so i had to prioritise and the 899 lost this time.

  10. Will the 1199 ohlins fit ? Bloody thieves take the piss steal someones tools that earn them a living just so they make a few quid

  11. The 1199 ohlins are electronic but they can be revalved and used with the f & p adjustable rear linkage, tbh there are a few shocks available for the 899 now cheaper than the ohlins,i would say pick your mods carefully, ride the bike and change what you feel needs changing(if anything),rear shock was first for me as the standard was just to harsh,i also fitted a slipper clutch as i found the rear locks up to easily when down shifting on track, never had it lock up on the road.A smaller front or larger rear sprocket is a cheap way of improving the flat midrange.Roll on the spring.

  12. I was gonna get -1 on the front done at 1st service ... I didnt find rear shock that bad but then im about 15stone so its prob about right for me in all honesty !

  13. I am 16stone with gear and i found the rear gave a very harsh ride bottoming out over the bumps transfering every bump into the base of my spine, where with the ohlins you can feel the shock smoothing things out ,like i said see how you get on with a few hundred miles on the clock, most of all just enjoy the 899.

  14. Ahh i didnt feel it bottom out but only had a couple of test rides on it so need to ride it abit more

  15. Have you adjusted the front suspension?

  16. You may need to change the triples if you decide to fit the Ohlins. Not sure what the diameter of the 899 shocks are but the Ohlins forks are 53mm on the 1199, so it might be easier and cheaper to change them out as well. Maybe if you can find a crash repairable bike with an intact front end you could pick up a set. They often come up on Ducati 1299 Forums - Ducati 1299 and Ducati 899 Panigale Forum as there are at least a couple of guys parting out their legit bikes for sale.

For example here is JarelJ's ad. He is the manager of Ducati Omaha and is selling a TTX rear shock all the linkages and will spring the bike to suit your weight for $1800. That price also includes a billet shock mount (inluding a mounting for a potentiomenter), ride height (tie rod) adjuster and a hydraulic pre-load adjuster. You can remove the DES from the unit quite easily and have it re-valved if you need to.

and another with the DES removed

For Sale: 2014 1199R Gas Tank (New) & Ohlins TTX-GP Shock - Ducati 1299 Forum

or for $1900 dollars this guy is selling the ohlins forks and both upper and lower yokes off an 1199R

  17. I meant just the rear shock rod lol the bpfs are good i had them on my 6 and liked them ! Been looking around found a company in america who will supply ship and fit the right spring on a ttx for £980 gonna see if theres anyone in england though

  18. Prob give full travel a call monday

  19. Yes one of the first things i had done at first service and then again when i fitted the ttx,i am happy enough with the suspension,i want rather than need the r&t front forks, maybe later this year when i have saved up a few pennies.

  20. R+t ?
