What is your budget flyingorphan ?. FSH or documented receipted history are a must so do not go too cheap. Flaking rockers are common (ive had 2) and about £86 each so it can get expensive. Belts should be replaced every 2 years but i think that's crap as i run the kevlar belts to 3 years and they are still like new when they come off. Alloy Crank gallery plug can back out and the alternator nut can come off, but the engine is pretty bulletproof if looked after and most importantly, used. Darren and any others, if you are doing the belts yourself, try dayco isoran belts as they are just as good as the official gates ones but can be had for £49.
Thanks Micro-Monkey, very useful info and a saving on the belts, they are £49 on the bay still.. Do you know if they are Kevlar based too?
Pretty certain they are of a kevlar composition. From when i thoroughly researched dayco, all i found was positives apart from brand whores who swear by what the original factories use without actually using them. Dayco are very good.
good luck mate,, hope you get a nice one,,, am also soon to be in the market , but for red S model with standard swing arm..
