That is the beauty of living in Africa, beautiful nature and beautiful wildlife, we encounter zebras and deers within 10kms of leaving Nairobi. Monsoon in Kenya is funny being on the equator, every two/three months we have what is called short rains which is more like a drizzle and possible to ride and even enjoy mud ruts. The long monsoon in Feb to April is a thunderstorm with flooding in most parts of the country. Temperature in Nairobi is generally around 25 degrees all through the year.
Welcome aboard I was surprised to see this lady riding a Pan America it at Valleys Extreme in Wales. It seems the bike can do reasonable progress on muddy hills.
Self and GF went to a talk by her last year. She's a tough girl, came back from a crippling cycling injury (got knocked off by a car) and is still living with the consequences of that ten or so years later. Up to that point she'd not ridden a motorcycle. Saw it as a challenge and took to it like a duck to water, both road and off-road. She's completed the Africa Eco Race (old Dakar route) and various other races and very recently had a baby.
It is actually a very good bike and can handle all the trails beautifully. The main issue I always have is that it has a small fuel tank and here in Kenya finding good fuel once you are away from a city is difficult and so we have to carry jerry cans which makes the bike very heavy especially on offroads.
