  1. It's arsesome.

As the Americans would have it.

Seriously, you might not like doing the decals, but you seem to make a good job of them.

  2. the welding on that frame is dreadful. Who did it? Dr Frankenstein?

    Nice work Funky!

  3. Bollox to that! I lose the plot on a "fiddly" clutch spring!

    Fair play...:upyeah:

  5. more sad act updates...

the decals have been ruining this model..theyve simply been cracking and splitting for no apparent reason...on the model makers forum they reckong that they may be old decals and now the hunt is on for the impossible...if you thought sourcing Cagiva Ducati parts was a mare what chance do i stand of getting decal sheet no: 14001192 from Japan??

im hoping that clear coat will help the appearance of the decals but others have simply disintegrated....bugger.

  6. Hey Funky, regardless of the decals its looking fantastic :upyeah:

  7. the decals have tightened up a lot overnight..still not tht happy with em though,,

  8. Would warming them with a hairdryer work???

  9. Looking good there funky 

  10. Viv, do you know that most of your posts have squares instead of smilies? Bit pointless putting an emoticon that no-one can see!

  11. Absolutely outstanding work Funky, you are doing a superb job.

Watch out for the DF 118's though, that's serious stuff you are taking!

  12. I think there's an incompatibility between TapaTalk and the site as viewed through a browser.
Good point though - how many people are generally using TapaTalk?

The interface is great, but you have to type on the minuscule keyboard with sausage fingers. Even on the iPad it takes me 5 times as long to type a message. Suppose it makes me write shorter pithier posts though.

    So I rarely use it!

  13. me too. I look at posts and occasionally reply, but mostly, I use a browser.

    ho hum....

decals disintegrating before my eyes..at least i havent spent hours and hours painstakingly working on every detail of this model.

im going to put it away somewhere safe until the urge to smash it into microscopic pieces subsides.

  15. As a kid I had great fun with a friend, shooting all his models from a respectable distance with an air rifle. You could try that. Endless amusement.

  16. hmmm....interesting thought.

my mates got a 12 gauge shotgun..i could always wait until after ive had my operation and can shoulder that bad boy properly (she's got a kick like a mule)...might give me something to look forward to?

theres a sort of satisfying boom when you blow logs to smithereens...also a nice bit of drama when you fire it through a brick wall. he owns a lot of land and several acres of woodland, and we spent a happy, male bonding afternoon a few yrs back when we shot one his outbuildings, quite literally to fragments of derbyshire stone and asbestos dust...almost like a stag weekend in its drunken majesty.

  17. Not sure that your models would last very long with a 12 bore, whereas with an air rifle we had fun trying to shoot the masts of HMS Victory, or peppering an ME-109 with bullet holes.

A shotgun would be more like a large banger instead of a roman candle.

  18. Ooops I use tapatalk
    Is this any better :)

  19. you sound like James May..

    i say...
