How Do You Feel About Your Ducati Ss Today?

Discussion in 'Supersport (1974-2007)' started by ck_uk, Aug 1, 2015.

  1. But.....is the shock mount on the frame not in a different position to the IE?

  2. Possibly, it's certainly longer, will jack up the rear a little. The marchesinis have a different sized axle and would need some machining of some sort unless of course you did change front and rear ends

  3. I believe it is the in same place. Check out 'Project Superspurt' on Ducati Up North - Projects. A lovely bike.

  4. I've seen that bike in the flesh, it is awesome!

  5. I'm angry at my 750 today. It's snapped the bracket/holder of the right-hand silencer, almost stranding me until I bodged a get-home repair.

Anyone got a spare? Part number 576.1.031.1A? :Angelic::D:Bag:

  6. Knew I had some somewhere

  7. It's got massive ears

  8. Those wheels do indeed look like the ss 5 spokes. Good idea.

    Lose the ears!

  9. I am confused. It has been nearly a year since I saw our carby model but I could swear that shock was offset....

  10. I have one but cant remember if its right or left. I'll have a look when I get home tomorrow.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  11. They are slightly offset. Tried to upload a couple of pics, my PC isn't playing tho.
Just checked fleabay, some pics on there show the offset

  12. I was in Wales for 4 days last week on mine, 20 years old with HC pistons and FCR flatsides and a couple more teeth on the rear, great overtaking machine.

  13. Which mod made the most difference to your bike?

  14. But people are still fitting the IE swingarm to their carby bikes. I wonder what they are doing to the frame or attachment to make it work

  15. Hard to say as they all went on at the same time. With the flatsides, at low revs below 3k it coughs and spits and is incredibly rough. Once on it's way though and the fuelling is fantastic.

  16. I'm having the same issue with mine, they are known for it. Needs to go on a dyno to be set up properly. Do you also get the hanging revs issue when shutting the throttle?

  17. No, never. It was set up on the dyno

  18. Not so - I've got FCR's on mine, running 11.2:1 CD and Ignitech ignition - smooth down to 2500rpm - no exaggeration.

  19. I had the Ignitech on mine but I think it was too near the coils and stopped working, so it came off! and yes it made it very smooth. I just avoid towns now.
