1200 How excited am I?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Daffy, Mar 24, 2014.

  1. So I have ordered the Evotech Rad and Head protector, I now think I need an oil cooler Guard and some barkbusters,I'm even thinking of Venture Shield now, bloody hell when will it end?

At least when it gets here I can go out into the garage and stare at it and not spend so much time on t'internet looking for stuff that I didn't know I needed:D

Thanks to all for their comments and experiences.

  2. If your going to order the evotech stuff do it direct with them, as they do a kit, rad oil and exhaust guard, and you get it cheaper than if you buy separately their deals aren't on fleabay

  3. Ps of your at Snells look at their 899 the white one with red wheels it has venture shield, or a similar covering

  4. Good call on the protectors (imho) and I've found the urge to add something to the bike is a bit like giving up smoking; you always want one but it just gets easier to say no over time? :Stop:

Unless it's a de-cat or full exhaust system or Abba Sky Lift stand or, or.......! ;)

Anyhow's, not long now fella - enjoy! :upyeah:

  6. Well, it's there in the workshop, waiting for a call tomorrow to confirm when I can have it.

Got the reg, i know who I am insuring it with (I would have liked ducati insurance but they were twice the price of some decent insurers), got my abba stand, space cleared in the garage, sun booked for the weekend - but I don't know if I can have it for the weekend!

The last time I was this exited I left a glass of milk and a mince pie on the fireplace:)

  7. Nice one! They have an open day Sunday...if yiu cant get yours go ride one of theirs ;)

  8. ;)Leave an Easter egg this time, so it was yours that I saw on Monday;)

  9. Satzoomer, you mentioned the decat / full pipe above.
I had my 2010 on standard exhaust until ~November last year. as it was nice to have a quiet bike for a change.

I fitted a Quat D system last year and was amazed just how much better / quicker it picks up mid range. That is without a remap, and you don't need to have it done, its just that to do so takes full advantage of the cat removal.

If you can afford it, its definitely worth the money, but the bike is great performance wise when standard anyway.
    Hope that helps.

Dafft good luck for the weekend mate. Fingers crossed its good weather and you can go have a play :)

  10. Well I hope you can pick it up this weekend bud, I know the feeling your ok until they get in it the shop then you cant wait to get your mitts on it.

  11. Weather looking great :)

  12. Well, it's not ready and it would have been a rush to get it done tomorrow afternoon so I have said to leave it until next Sat because I would rather it went through the workshop properly.

So it was my decision but I am still gutted, oh well I might go out on the GS tomorrow and visit it.

Had the same set up remapped by Chris at CJS today and would definitely recommend it. Mine was running quite lean so to say it's not needed is not entirely correct. Each bike will be slightly different and it is of course the icing on the cake but I can honestly say the difference is amazing and I am safe in the knowledge that the fuelling could not be any better.

  14. I've just changed the full system for a Mivv, totally different feel no power wise much better through the higher rev range now, and sounds awesome.
I got this advice in the fitting book

  15. Oh good. Got mine booked in with Chris next month.
Without a remap the Leo Vince certainly seems to have improved the 2-3k RPM running and strengthened the midrange so
I was wondering whether it was worth having it done. However at the back of my mind I did worry about the fuelling and intended having it done anyway to be on the safe side. So if you still feel a difference then that's a bonus.

  16. :DSo it's Thursday and I pick it up on Friday so 2 more sleeps, I have the rad and head guards, MotoMFG wheel socket, an abba stand and a clear space in the Garage all waiting.

So it's just tomorrow that I have to get through and I am off to Munich for the day so out from early doors until Midnight (all for a 3 hour meeting that will probably last 1)

Normally I would dread a trip like this but I have been looking forward to it all week because when I get home Saturday will be here!!!

    Can't wait now.

  17. I'd go for one more sleep if I was you - unless you want to pick it up on Saturday!! I remember the excitement the day before getting mine. Enjoy the day fella. :upyeah:

  18. Bugger, it is Saturday that I get it, will this waiting never end?

  19. If I were you, I'd put the whisky bottle down now.

  20. I'd phone Snells and have them wind up Daffy by putting out the "closed" sign 2 minutes before he arrives. He'd be so mad a bit of wee might come out.
