I loved my 04 b1h zx636r.....It was bonkers, and the induction noise up front was un beatable! I loved the predictable head shaking it used to give me on anything other than billiard table smooth surfaces! I had some fun on that thing....
I felt exactly the same about my B1H 636, so much so that I did seriously consider a ZX10R this time round before the 848. I love the green too. The only downside to my 636 was it had a vibey right foot peg which the dealers tried to sort several times but failed miserably with. Apart from that it was a fantastic bike
I sold my aprilia RSV to part fund my 848 and part ex'ed the 636 for the rest.....but I tried to raise the cash so I could keep my 636. If I could get it back now and it was as I left it...I'd snap it back up no hesitation.
I had the A1P636 which was brill... Not much grunt till it was screaming though, but the scorpion can and ram noise did sound pretty good I still fancy a 2004 ZX10r....
I've still not ridden the 1098 enough..... But I have to say ever time ride it I love it more and more. Already I cannot see me going back to an IL4 !! Only problem I'm finding is i keep banging it off the Rev Limiter but Guessing its because I'm used to ringing the neck out of my old Gixer thou !! Hopefully I'll get a chance to get out with you guys soon ;-) Ez
7700miles on my 848evo now it's very much a love hate type relationship! 7/10 rides are just hot, uncomfortable, back arms wrists and neck ache's but then your have a perfect morning blat and there is no way I could sell it
I find these babies just love the cooler air and hate it when it's hot! Morning and evenings are best...
Fire_2, I think you've just hit the nail on the head, that's exactly how I feel. El Toro, That's what I meant, hope that's clear enough!
The zx10r is aware some, I had a 05 model and it's was the best 1000cc bike I have ever owned. Got a 749 at the mo and whilst it's not as fast as the z they both make make me feel the same way when I open the garage door......ummmmmmmmm
I had one too, and came to the conclusion it was going to kill me after two accidental 130mph incidents on the way to work on successive days and the front end lifting at 85 when I realised it was drawing me into using its power band over 10k far too often. The air box roar (with a K&N in) was indeed intoxicating. Kawasaki had returned to their fabled and much missed ways of my youth, but far too bonkers for me. As for getting fully to grips with the 748 it is much more capable than I am and after 4 years and 20k miles on it I am still learning how to drive it properly. One day I may get there.
I didn't get on with my 996 at first either. It took getting the suspension set up and putting new tyres on to do that. Then I took it to Neil Spalding, when he still ran Sigma Performance, and got his full monty set up and it still is one of the best bikes I've ever ridden. <--- That black bike I rode in 2008 comes a close second. Gilps got that handling so well for me that I could do anything I wanted with it, despite us racing on standard road tyres. Thanks Gilps, you're a star and I'll be eternally grateful for that
Well in my workshop is a very low mileage 08 ZX10R Peo, owned by a current BSB rider, converted to track use but with all the road gear....only done 3000 miles, spare new race bodywork, upgraded suspension etc....yours for a mere pittance at £5500.......
How long did it take me to get to grips with my first Duke? No time. A Pantah after a Honda 400 Superdream was just better in every respect. But it did take me 20 miles before I realised it had another gear (very long-legged).
As i had a Guzzi LeMans MKii from new until i got my 1098s..............................not very long to get used to it at all.
