How Many Bikes Have You Owend ? Mine Is 80

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by motojohn, Apr 17, 2012.

  1. Not many bikes in my history, just 15, in fact i had the Guzzi LeMans from new until i sold it 2 years ago and got the 1098s.
My only regret is selling the Hailwood Rep. I bought it new and loved it all the years i had it. Yes it was a pig and unreliable, but i loved every minute i rode it.

    Yam FSiE
    Honda CD 175
    Yam RD 250
    Honda 400 4
    Yam TZ 250
    Suzi RD500
    Ducati 500 Pantah
    Kwacka z1
    kwacka z1300
    Laverda 750
    Ducati 900ss
    Ducati 900 Mike Halewood replica
    Moto Guzzi Le Mans Mk11
    Ducati 996
    Ducati 1098s (Current bike)

  2. I'm up to 120 now, no.120 is my lovely 999S, a bike I chose carefully and not about to sell :)

  3. You mean "this week" right??

  4. Well no doubt I won't remember them all, but the ones I can remember go like this.

    RD125LC
    Yamah SR 250
    Yamaha FZ 600
    RG250 Gamma
    RD350LC YPVS F1
    Yamaha SRX 600
    RD350LC YPVS N1
    Kawasaki Z1000J
    Suzuki GSX 1100 EFE
    Yamaha FJ1100
    Ducati 900SS 1994 (still have)
    Ducati 900SS 1992 (still have)
    Ducati 750 F1 (still have)
Triumph Tiger 100SS 1966 (still have, but it's going to pay for something else)

I've probably had double this amount, but the ones I haven't mentioned didn't inspire me enough to keep them more than a few weeks

  5. Well here is my mini list

    1. 1st Bike at the age of 25:- Yamaha R6
    2. Suzuki GSXR K1

    10. Ducati 748R (No:219)

Not being biased but I have enjoyed each and every bike, however nothing really compared to the Ducati in terms of enjoyment and sheer grin factor. The RSV was a big old lump with plenty of torque but it just wasn't a Ducati. Its taken 7 years to get back on a Ducati and boy did I miss it. :upyeah:

  7. Honazukiwakisakamaha .... surely time for something more interesting? Just sayin'. Try a KTM maybe? :upyeah:

  8. am very much liking the look and price of the new 390
apart from that quite honestly they just don't interest me styling wise or quality.
regarding how i know about the KTM quality - i have seen first hand some PDI shockers.

Seriously, i am well stuck in the 90's and quite happy there. i like my 400's and rare odd ball left field stuff. last new bike i bought was the 600RR - that put me off IL4's for a while and ultra hard work buzzy 600's

  12. Honda Bonus 125 (bought and sold in Vietnam)

I am simply astonished at the number of bikes some people on here have owned, 120odd?!? Surely that's keeping them for less time than it takes for the V5 to arrive!?

  14. Feel quite long termist given I've only owned four bikes since I passed my test in 2004!

1st bike - Honda XR125L - a great little Dual Sport and ideal for nipping round London
2nd - Kawasaki ER-5 - bought this as soon as the 33 bhp restriction came off my licence. Bought for £800, ridden for 18,000 miles, crashed, fixed, sold for £650
3rd - BMW F650GS - single cylinder bought from the BMW offroad school for £2,200, having been mechanically refurbished and with a warranty. Bodywork held together with cable ties but mechanically sound. Seriously good motorbike and if I was going to go round the world I'd take one of these. Sold when I had a longer distance commute and the motorway run and the big single weren't happy bedfollows
4th - 2005 Ducati Multistrada 1000S - owned this for three years now.
