  2. I used to do track days at RAF Odiham (home of the Chinook), it was bloody cool when they came in at some mad angle.

  3. I’m pretty sure with a bit of training it would all come together. But it’s not the type of machine I’d be asking for the keys on way home from the pub.. :D

  4. Impossible!

  5. Because old people ramble on about random stuff and forget where their conversation started....

  8. A very skilled pilot to be flying so low….. talking of Spitfires.

Me Dad stole some Spitfire fuel for is Douglas so he could get home from his base in Wales. Said it went well for a while….

  10. I recall one of the last TDs I did there was not long after a chinook from the base, along with its crew were lost in Afghanistan. It was airshow season and as a mark of respect the Red Arrows did a very low flyby down the runway, along with trailing red, white and blue smoke.
I was was hooning down the runway, flatout, pinned as they went overhead.
    Unforgettable moment.

  14. I once dumped an incredibly hot girl I was dating because she sent me a WhatsApp that said “Could of, would of, should of”. I am a pedantic man of principle and so I was quite prepared to put my penis where my mouth is.

Hang on. That didn’t come out quite how I intended it to sound, but I’m sure you get the idea.

  16. It was only a matter of time before the oldies started waffling on about nonsense. It would be a different story if this was a how young are you thread.

  17. Looking at the poll, there are no young people here, so its fortunate the oldies post as otherwise the forum would be dead!

  18. He flew into weather he wasn't equipped, trained or prepared for. A case of ambition outweighing his talent. Wouldn't be the first to perish this way. Seen it many times before.

  19. Did you hear about the chap in Eket that took up a brand spanking 412 only to stoof it into the ground? Suicide apparently… :astonished:

  20. Simple, they don’t want to admit how old they are.
