Carrying on re the new wheels I had new tyres fitted to them yesterday - the tyres on the rims were ancient and felt like rock so had to go before I intended riding it again, (in fact on the short ride home last Saturday after fitting the wheels the front let go even whilst taking it steady, got my attention in a hurry!) Could have swapped the Bridgey S22's from the other wheels but decided to go with new - for the first time ever I went with Michelin's, following my suppler/fitters recommendation a Power 5 rear and Power GP front.
My tyre fitters logic was that as I only ride short stints at a time, 80km or so, the softer front would be a better choice.
Down here in South Australia the weather has turned wet and cold, (well what we consider to be wet and cold!) so the bike is probably in hibernation now so time to tinker and tart stuff up ...... First up - the KBike 'window' clutch cover does look good when it is clean BUT that doesn't last long when ridden so had a rummage in the spares box and found a couple of open type covers. As an experiment I have gone with the black one so will see what I think of that whenever I get to ride the bike again. Secondly - not needed but because they look pretty cool I have a set of 'wavy' discs to fit, the word is they weigh less than the originals but will check that during the fitting process. Other 'bits' on the way
Finally having some decent weather this weekend here in Adelaide so re-registered the HM and went for my first ride in 3+ weeks. Mate tagged along with his V4S SF for a coffee run out to the Adelaide Hills. Note:- still not fitted the new 'wavy' rotors!
Public holiday here today, weather 26* so just had to go out again! Same destination for coffee but with a different ride companion this time.
@DucatiScud you have a good eye, it's T55. War monument for liberation war which was in Croatia during 90's
A tarting-up/personalisation day for mine today. Galfer discs F/R, CNC Racing wheel nuts, CNC Racing sprocket flange and nuts, a few titanium bolts here and there.
I’m still tempted to get an SP, but is there a revised version of the Hyper around the corner anytime soon?
Well that shagged the morning's ride! Perfect weather here but only got to do 70km before this occurred. Pretty much new Michelin Power 5, done approx 300km, no indication of what caused the puncture!? Hole is along the mould line in the tread recess; tried plugging it but no go - luckily my riding pal has a van equipped to carry bikes so he went to get that and got my bike home.
Think I've finished with blinging it up, for now .............. Gold chain, and a carbon hugger a friend removed from a Multistrada 1000 he is about to sell. Oh, and a new 'new' tyre
