  5. Hmm:thinkingface: I might scope out the NC500 see what it’s like in reality. I might then start an SWI500. What’s the best time to go @finm to avoid midges & shite weather (and Lycra clad peoples) ?

  6. probably may. SWI500. that could make for an interesting route btw.

  11. Lyme disease beckons :)

  12. Hmmm, looks like a Horsefly bite. Has a hole in the middle of it and is a bit yellow. :eyes:

Is amputation on the cards? :worried:

As an aside, everytime I stopped by the side of the road for a bit of a break, especially close to water, I was bombarded my little flying, bitey things. o_O They seem obsessed with the bike, so if I walked away from it, they tended to leave me alone.

  13. not if you catch it early and amputate first

  14. thing is, how did you get bitten by a horse fly? normally its horse handlers and sheep worriers that are the victims of the horse fly.
    hmm.

  15. .....Right I'm off to the shed, shouldn't be long.

  16. :no_mouth:

Can't recall seeing many horses, but there were loads of sheep. There were planty of bugs about the place. They were getting in through the vents of my Arai and I could feel them on my ears and head a number of times. This happens sometimes, but was really noticable this week out in the sticks.

  17. uh huh.

  18. On the barrel or the stock

  19. We went last year in August (me Mrs Ex and Mini) and never saw one bite between the 3 of us - stopped putting repellent on after a couple of days - they go after bad blood by the looks of it :eyes:

  20.

    Freudian slip. :innocent: Honest. :no_mouth:

Makes it easier to go in the shed and make a sawn off shotgun, rather than cut my arm off though. Lucky escape, thanks for pointing that out Hexie.
