I just couldn’t let the 851 go, after sitting and looking at them both for vast amounts of time, remembering the fun I’ve had on each, the 851 was the winner!
I'm the same, despite not being able to get ready for the road for a while, I think 851 will stay in the house even after i stop riding.
Well… here she is, very original and with only 50k miles on her! One or two small jobs to be done and maybe a sympathetic tickle to the underside in the next few years. All matching numbers and even an unmarked set of the original vw floor mats!
Might have been more kind if it had been a British Escort, but not a German Golf... Never liked Golfs, but each to their own.
Sort of have a golf by default: wife's Skoda fabia, 354,000 and counting, original clutch, original exhaust. Just changed the front caliper which was original....
In other news and after much deliberation the 851 might be going aswell! Still some pondering to be done though!
