  4. You have excellent taste!

Wait till you ride an SP. "Feels about the same" I said....then I hit 7,000 RPM.

    Scary!! :p

  5. I bought a brand new 916SP in '94 and loved it..... till it was stolen from outside Brands Hatch 2 years later.

  6. Luckily I’ve never had a bike stole.it’s just not a thing in DERRY. even parking in dodgy places all over Europe no problems. But I can imagine the hassle/loss.

  7. I've a pal up north. His oul lad had a big enough building trade wholesale business, and back in the day he had to pay protection money to both sides. Anyhow, his mam had a lovely Audi Quattro, back when noone had any money, which I ended up owning eventually, and his dad bought a brand new range rover, which was robbed within 24 hours. The peelers rang him that evening
    "Have you spare keys?"
    "I do"
"Well it's outside this pub, but we're not going near it"
Your man said the scariest thing he ever had to do was Rob his oul fellas car back. They sent it straight back to the dealer and got something less distinctive.

  8. Lucky I live in Derry then. But it was obvious from your story who stole your mates car.
They took protection money and his car and the cops are afraid to recover it.

  9. Personally, my SP scares me when I open full throttle at 9000 rpm already riding at 90km/h. I know there are no bells and whistles to keep the rear rubber in contact with the asphalt. I also know I don’t have the necessary skills to handle this much untamed power. So I only do it in a radar/cop free straight and dry stretch of road with warm tires. Once a year. :D

It’s amazing how fast this thing can go fast. If you know what I mean…

  10. I know of a race 916 sp for sale bud

  11. Won’t be this year unfortunately. Ive just this week started a major house refurb. BUT any pics.

  12. Yeah. I use the English word “quick” to describe acceleration and “fast” to describe top speed. But not everyone has my sensible logic :joy:
