  2. I thought it would be tricky too but it looks unnervingly easy looking at the dvla web site with the C of C. I might be missing something though :eyes:

    Anyone know?

But whatever happens I will have at least one 1098R on the road - so don't deamonise me too much :innocent: :motorcycleduc:

  11. You might need to request a build date age related number. I have noticed in the UK, a small number of bikes registered after a period of time in storage/display get a new registration which IMO is odd. Andy

  12. Yes, would deffo go for age related if possible to register

  13. My Desmo is a 10 plate, built in 2008, my SFS sat in the showroom for 18 months since mid 2011, it was registered in 2013 on a 13 plate. Your V5 will state "Date of 1st registration", not "Manufactured".

When bringing in from abroad, a bike will be given a plate based on when it was 1st registered on the supplied registration document, hence why most bikes get an "age related" plate. My 1098R came from Jersey and I had to send the Jersey reg document in when registering the bike. Mine was very straightforward as it was originally registered in the UK and exported to Jersey, but the same would have applied if it hadn't been.

If it hasn't been registered before, it could well end up on a new plate (but I'm not 100% sure). If you can prove it was 1st used but not registered previously, I have no idea what theat would do as regards to the registration you will receive.

Not really relevant, but I got this and had to send to DVLA when registering my bike.
