  1. And CCTV ? Pointless... Complete waste of time... Only good for making cheap "Police, Camera, Action" type television programmes. Have you ever seen how crap the images are from those things ? Useless !

  2. You don't need to involve the police to get access to CCTV. Research Access Subject Request and you will find you will have to pay a fee of £10. Also politely request that they back the footage up whilst you fill out the paperwork to save it being over written. You can also ask them to review the CCTV to see whether anything noteworthy was identified. If the CCTV belongs to a company and not private then draw there attention to the CCTV code of practice which they should have.

  3. Totally have to disagree with you, I have installed a home system bought from maplins, Came out one morning to find that the car door frame had been bent back, reviewed the cctv footage and you could see clearly two lads trying to get in it at 5am, made a copy and showed a few people and the lads where identified and prosecuted. They cannot argue with CCTV.
I'd installed four cameras because i was fed up of vandalism to my motors also piece of mind with the bikes in the garage, since the CCTV has been installed its virtually stopped. we had one incident where my pickup was scratched we could see who did it, but because it was on the other side of the road and you couldn't physically see them scratch it then we had no case. But we still know who did it, and revenge will be sweet.

  4. aah but even then its over in one operation, with a hammer you could pop their todger on a block and tap it repeatedly over the course of several days until it finally wears through. and even that's too kind for those scum...

  5. Calm down boys.

  6. it was only meant in jest.

although I do hate it when people damage other property and saunter off as if nothing has happened, a couple of years ago somebody took a wrong turn down my road and decided to use my driveway to turn around, they reversed into my bike, knocking it over and doing £400 worth of damage then drove off as if nothing happened. I heard it happen but didn't get out in time to get their number plate, just to watch their tail lights disappear into the night...

  7. A lot of people are uninteresting or turds.

Which is why I seem to get on better with animals...

    Only joking.
    Sort of.

  8. Why bother with todgers ? Drill through the middle of their teeth.

  9. No you don't understand, CCTV (like speed cameras) exists purely to be able to control and extract money from 'legal' citizens when they commit petty, compliance offences.

Anyone living beyond the law is immune and for that it is useless, they don't even try to identify the perps' from it... :frown:

  10. Well this is a weird one. So the police phoned me to say there was no conclusive evidence on who damaged my seat.

The good and bad news. I ordered a new seat for £200. Installed it and carried on enjoying my SP. parked the bike outside my work window and stuck a alarmed disc lock on it.

Came to the bike Friday evening after work to find another f'ing hole in the seat in exactly the same place as the last one!!

It has to be me! I must have caught my alpinestar bootlaces buckle on the seam of the seat when lifting my leg over the quite high part if the seat.

Good news. Nobody tried to break into my bike.
Bad news. Seat number 2 will at some point get ordered and the new boots I was using will have to be not used on this bike.

  12. In the meantime, you could be practising the gesture to gain suppleness. You only need to gain another inch, which you easily will do after about a week.

  13. Alpinestars supertech R's mate.

inside of the boot is a soft suede and enclosed zips are on the outside of the boot. Idea being that there's nothing to get caught up on rearsets in the event of an off on track........ Also soon to mention the feature of not ripping seats ;)

  14. and the hard ankle support of mine has mullered my Carbon fibre exhaust guard. Otherwise, great boot

  15. I have a pair of winter and summer Sidi race boots which are great but rather technical for a simple commute. So had looked for something a little more casual something I could wear through the day and not lug extra boots around.

The were the ones that killed my seat X2. A really great boot that you could use all day and on the bike too. I tried the CR-4 Gore-tex XCR Boot, shipped in from the sates. They are like a pair of walking boots.CR-4 Gore-tex XCR Boot - Footwear - Moto | Alpinestars

I should have gone for S-MX 2 boot, but then again then again they would not have been as casual and wearable after the ride. S-MX 2 Boot - Moto | Alpinestars maybe?

I wear Dainese trousers that have shin protectors too.

  16. I have some Sidi vortex things, great boots but the kicker is they have exposed screws on the heel and little edges all over the place....so far made a bit of a mess of my tail, exhaust guard and anything else kicking around by them :( Just changed the rearsets too and found they are now scratching the swing arm! :( Have a piece of laminating tape just where it catches atm but think I'm going to have to dump the boots and give the supertechs a try.
