If the EU is so good why won't Red Ed allow a referendum?

  1. I totaly agree with your statement,We have and IMO will never be fully educated as to the pros or the cons on this matter which will leave people to make their minds up on a very limited outlook and knowledge either way.
As for slippery Ed,wasnt it Gordon Brown that decided that the last lot of "GB Plc giveaways"to the EU would not be up for a vote by us plebs??
I personly think that pulling out would be a car crash with serious implications but nothing wrong with a bit of Sabre rattling.

  2. There are benefits to being in, there are benefits to being out. Is it really so terrible to hold a referendum ? At least afterwards we`d know where we stand. I see no harm in a referendum every generation if there is substantial change as there has been since the last referendum.
I have said this before on here but leaving the EU would not mean the end of easy travel around or dealings with the EU. Countries as far way as South Korea have free trade agreements with the EU. Bearing in mind the import/export balance the EU would be hurting itself if it denied us free trade. In my business I import & export goods all over the world, mainly outside the EU, it is not difficult.

  3. Good points well made.
Sadly some think the world will end.
