i too wanted some extenders when i first bought the bike but i read a post on a forum the usa one i think and they recommended lifting your elbow instead of dropping it and to be honest it is better obviously you still get the vibration but i can live with that.

The extenders are std equipment now on the 1198, cost about £15 IIRC.
BUT - the standard ones can be a right sh1t to remove as Ducati use some super duper thread lock on the them!
I actually had to drill one out, which as made me a little cautious about fitting them again.
