I also remembered to do this little job, which I now do to every Ducati that is cursed with these foot pegs after I learned the expensive and painful way on a 748 that they’re very slippery when wet. I can’t for the life of me think why Ducati persisted with that design for so long - it’s almost as if they wanted people to crash so they’d need to buy new fairings, clip ons and brake levers etc
I’m not sure what it is tbh. Wiping it didn’t shift it and there’s a bit of an edge to it, but almost like it’s a coating which is flaking rather than a structural crack in the material (laquer maybe?). Also, that’s a fairly substantial block of aluminium and whatever it is doesn’t seem to have affected the other areas. I’ll keep an eye on it though. Thanks for the heads up.
