Insulating My Garage

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Cream_Revenge, Sep 17, 2015.

  1. Point taken. Would OSB suffice or is it 12mm ply required? Or a cheaper alternative I don't know about?

  2. Simple answer - yes it is...

  3. Only use OSB to make one way packing cases. It is not waterproof in any way.
Please use it in construction if you guarantee no rain.

  4. MDF?

  6. WPB ply European not Chinese. Thicker the better subject to architects calculations.

  7. OK, so I need to face the fact its going to cost me. Thanks all.

  9. Looks like a nice structure so well worth taking your time and doing it correctly. I've a brick garage and I think I need to fit a fan to help ventilate as I've problems with dew point condimsation. Grr

  10. I'm hoping this year will be better than last. Blinking should be after the time and money I spent on it.

  11. I left my lid in the garage for a wet week once. I'd just ridden home in the wet so I left it in there wet without thinking. The mold inside was disgusting. Got a new lid and won't make that mistake again. Would have been worse if it were a she'd rather than a proper garage though.

  16. Can we have an impressed smilie please ET :)

  17. Could you put a little wood burner in
I saw a long thin one in someone's shed once and it gave off a nice bit of heat and used kindling sticks
It had a flue out through the roof

At least that way you can keep inside warm and great when your banned from the house for spending too much
