Insurance shock!

  1. Just bought a new hyperstrada and was searching for a good deal, was get silly quotes of £900+,
then i came across Hastings, found that if i did a duel bike policy so i got two years no claims using my vfr nc30 as second bike it worked out at £270 for both bikes fully comp. with european cover and all the bells and whistles, only down side is its £750 excess!!
I can live with that and hopefully if no claims next year i'll have 3yrs ncb to shop around with.
BTW, hastings would insure the Hyper alone with no no claims bonus for £340 fully comp. and with 2 yrs no claims for £230
    I'm 46 with a clean licence.

  2. I had a Monster S4 with about £5000 worth of stuff on, they were OK with the full termi system with cams etc giving an extra 10bhp but as soon as I mentioned the Ohlins front forks they refused to insure me..guess it would be OK if you said you had a 999R which have them as standard.

I've been onto CN this morning to insure another bike, apparently you can only use your NCB on one bike or get a multi bike cover. I've been having two bike insurers and using my max NCB for years.........ooops !! if it's true ?

  3. Yep thats true, only one no claims per bike policy unless duel bike policy taken out!!
Lucky you never had a claim.

  4. Most ( decent ) insurance companies will take into consideration NCB built up on other bikes. I have nine years no claims ( transferred from another bike ) on my Laverda's policy - it's a multi-bike policy with Bennetts.
