I saw the Facebook photos when she picked it up, definitely not a bloke, be interested to understand why it’s gone back though?
Yes it's definitely a lady, apparently after a 959 Corse instead hence the sale of the V4 To be fair I doubt that the current pricing or advert has anything to do with her, it'll be the sales process at DMC deciding on content and pricing so not really the owners fault if she simply didn't get on with the bike. Nonetheless, it's still a standard bike (non S / non Speciale) and so flowering it up in the description as anything else is a little ambitious. Equally unless I'm mistaken there's always been an unwritten rule that aftermarket paint jobs don't hold any value when it comes to resale, rightly or wrongly that's how I've always thought it's been. So in essence it's a standard V4 with a few optional extras, so definitely not worth the same value as a brand new 0 miles bike, let alone a considerable increase over one, whether it's barely run in or not, it's a second user bike with two names on the V5 by the time you've got it home.
Mmm.... I bet she was hammered on price and told that a paint job had devalued it as people want standard original. However by the time it had a spit and rub and appeared on the showroom floor it's suddenly become 'a rare one off opportunity' with a premium price tag. Bummed at both ends!
Wonder is she’s gonna get a 959 corsa and then paint it and return it with 500 miles on the clock and end up getting a van van.
'The Dark Side - Speciale' worth more than a new bike! Compared to the 999 in another thread which is worth 20% less than a standard one despite great upgrades 'cause its "forever a marmite bike". Some are obsessive about standard bikes, others want modified. Standard is probably easier to sell imo, but price is what someone is willing to pay.
Good paint jobs are not cheap unless you know someone in the trade. Thats £1000-1500 worth I would guess? The rest of the stuff is just carbon that I would expect to negotiate to be thrown in with the bike. For me this would be ~£20k brand new with paint job and the carbon. If it had 600 miles run in and the first service then that would be better than 300miles. The only reason for warranting the £22k is if they are difficult to get hold of still?
Is there a supply shortage, bearing in mind that we are in peak buying season? Looks like trying to cash in on perceived scarcity? To me, non standard paintwork detracts from the value unless the original panels are included. So definitely a "no" from me
