you can make your own tool to remove the switch gear from the handle bars I just used a piece of wire about 2mm in diameter and filed the end in to a squarish shape to release the catch
So some pictures for you It should in theory be simple to make a prong to do the job, it’s Not complex
My 22 Multistrada V2S has the same problem. It seemed to start after I'd fitted those little plastic spacers on the throttle to remove the slack. I wondered whether the cruise control perhaps needed that slack to work, but it seems unlikely.
The 1200 has a cruise cut-off if you roll the throttle forward against a small sprung section, perhaps the spacers are engaging that if its the same on the V2 ??
I have had the same problem with my 1260 since new in Aug 2020. It's been looked at 3 times by the local dealer but no resolution so I have 'just put up with it'. Basically, it works 90% of the time but occasionally when the cruise is armed (not live) it will go off and the warning triangle appears. Quite quickly when it started doing that I found out that be depressing the rear brake pedal the warning light would go off but still not re-arm. It would only re-arm if I stopped and cut the engine then restarted would it re-arm and operate normally again. A Pain on a long stretch with roads that you could actually use it. Having read the threads above I'll point the dealer in that direction on the next service.
An update - I have solved the problem! I am embarrassed to tell you it appears to be operator error I was trying to use it the same as on my old 1200DVT, where having activated C/C my default was to press the + button and SET appeared, and I could adjust the speed. Today on a ride I found that SET would only work if I pressed the minus button - the clue was that it had also had SET written on it. Checked the Manual and sure enough, it says to use the SET/minus button. Very grateful for all the input on this thread, which hopefully will help others with their C/C problems. I also discovered and used the Tyre Calibration system, having found the the quickshifter didn't work as well having fitted a 42 tooth rear sprocket. That fixed it. These two fixes were the cherry on the top of a very enjoyable ride this morning around Southern England's green and pleasant land.
well at least you solved it, and learned more about the CC system than you needed to ever know ! and well done on your honesty....
Pierre, Don't forget that to cut the CC feature when riding, simply roll the throttle grip slightly forward and then you won't get the stuttering effect via other methods. No doubt you 'already know this', but just in case..........
