  2. Ahh believe that was a vintage year :)

We could be setting a trend here, national check your fuel filter day ?

Would just like to point out I am in no way connected to Ducati or any of its subsidiary companies :p

Maybe we can get a bulk forum order in

  4. You could sell them to us! We could halve the average age of filters in use....

  6. I have two new filters on the shelf both have 6/8/13 date on them, if i fit one tomorrow and someone buys the bike next week, then decides to fit new filters, he might be surprised to see the date and think I was telling porkies when I say the filters have just been done, so in some cases things might not be what they seem.
No No No the bike is not for sale before anyone jump in with Watsits.

  8. Have the gremlins not gone away or no road test as yet:thinkingface:

  9. Changed mine in 2017 because of a split hose as shown in the photo,
03 again a good year for replacement

  10. Went for a road test today, it’s marginally better, but still cuts out

Not great when your giving in beans in the fast lane (M25) and having to coast to the hard shoulder !

Weirdly enough if you tried to start it straight away it didn’t want to know, but turn the ignition on/off then it springs back into life.

New filter and changed 1 relay at the moment, maybe I’ll change the other relay and keep looking.

  11. have you got a "void" sticker or gaffer tape over your rubber bung on top of your ECU? Any memories of having to ride home in torrential rain? When you have time, doesn't take long - you can carefully remove bung and look inside with a powerful torch, one end from memory is particularly prone to corroding as it's where moisture (if there is any) tends to sit. Make sure you re-seal with gaffer tape or your best waterproof tape because water will find a way in if you don't.

  12. Had a similar prob on my 748. It was a fuse. At first glance it looked fine but on closer inspection it had the tiniest break in it ...

  13. but failed intermittently? - can certainly happen to fuseholder contacts and is the plague of older italian cars either causing above or even total meltdown due to poor design/lightweight connection.

  14. Hunt for the gremlins continue, luckily it’s not totally let me down yet, did a route via Boxhill and Newlands corner, and probably cut out 5-6 times.

At least the Panni passed the MOT today, just o_O

  15. It was a break in the wire inside the fuse, tiny it was . Went round in circles for days swapping out relays and stuff . Must of had that fuse out 5 times before I noticed the break in it .
But yes an intermittent fault that sounds very similar. Cutting out, misfiring and sometimes starting sometimes not ..

  17. Yea, fun ain't they? Had one in my last van that no one could get to the bottom of so I bought a new van... Shame as I loved that van.. but it was to small to fit a bike and It had a good run.
Had an intermittent fault on my old cagiva , used to cut out, not start at times . That took weeks to work out . It was a lose wire on the ignition

  18. That is the good thing about forums, there’s a chance you will find the cure for something that even a professional won’t discover. I can think of at least two things on cars I’ve fixed, one on a petrol feed that still baffles me (cure worked both times over 40 year period) and one within a water circuit that baffles everyone else and they don’t understand but I am absolutely fine with. :)

  20. I can taste your frustration as when mine first played up i replaced the rubber hoses in the petrol tank (clamped on by Rob with that special tool)/fuel filter/spark plugs and went out again for the third time & the problem vanished for two seasons but is now back with me on the thirteenth/fourteenth rides out this year.:(
