848 Is Ecu Change Easy Diy ?

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Fastmonkey, Mar 12, 2015.

  1. I am putting my 848evo back to stock and am removing the slash cut termi cans to go back to stock. I also want to remove the dp ecu and put the standard one back in but wanted to check if this was a DIY job. Is it find it, unbolt and unplug it and put the stock one in or does it need any software tweaking ?

  2. Yep plug and play :)

What you doing with the slash cuts??? :) want to part chop some standard carbon termis?

  3. ^^ no thanks will be selling the full package, slash cuts, ECU and filters.

  4. you may need to get the tps reset

  5. excuse my ignorance but what does tps stand for ?

  6. oh sorry, its throttle position sensor. I had to get this done on my 1098s, I think the panigales do this themselves but the earlier 848/1098/1198 need to be reset by the dealer. May be worth checking

  7. Im soon to be fitting Termis etc, what are the symptoms of a tps that needs adjusting? is it a Main dealer fix?

  8. think it will run rough, yes needs a dealer to reset it

  9. I fitted slash cut Termi's and dp ECU recently only ridden for a couple of hours but all seemed perfectly fine. So long as it continues to appear ok I'll just be waiting till next service to have the Tps checked/reset.

  10. I've seen chrisW do this to my bike and seams pretty straight forward. Also got the wires to do it myself.
    Only cost a few quid.

  11. Ecu removal/replacement takes seconds. I would think the exhaust system change would be a bit more excitement depending on if you're repalcing headers as well. Also the emissions kit with standard system.

Looks like your set to go.
