Is It Possible To Fall In Love With An 900ss Ie Model?? (pic Heavy)

Discussion in 'Builds & Projects' started by The Royal Maharaja, Nov 27, 2020.

  1. Yep ..... been there .... done that ....... :upyeah:

I've been there as well , most recently with third-party fork bushes .
They quickly went into the bin , and idiot-boy here had to fork out again ( excuse the pun :) )
    ..... for OEM parts .

BTW - I'm loving the build ..... and the wheels look fantastic !

  3. Thanks for the kind words Serjames, it's funny I don't feel particularly proud...pleased yes, hopefully the end result will have that "emotional attachment"...unfortunately the project was a project mainly for the doing (hence doing everything!) to keep me busy... to try to overcome the horrors of depression that has plagued the last years. :( Saying that the build itself has definitely given me some bad days too. :D

  4. Well I feel you on the depression. Bikes are my thing too - keep me sane.

  5. Great job Grant. Love the story telling! :upyeah:

This kind of project brings as much frustration as satisfaction. But in the end, it teaches/reminds you that perseverance is key. Same thing in life when things get difficult. I too do my therapy (mostly anger management) in the garage (or the garden), working on various little projects that keep me happy and modest, away from the global madness that surrounds us. Can’t be ignored though, and taking a brake every now and then has become vital for me.

I wish you a better coming year and hope we’ll find a way to ride together.

  6. Thanks Guillaume, we should arrange something for sure...when the warmth returns. :upyeah:

  7. Really ?

I have always relied heavily on bikes to keep me comfortably insane ..... [IMG]

  8. " Eau Oxygénée "

    Hmm ..... yes .
The French language , often poetic , but can sometimes be very literal-minded ..... :)

There's similar stuff in Spanish .
"Sideshow Bob" from The Simpsons is called "Caracter Secundario Bob" .....:D

Sorry ..... what was the question again ?

  12. I'm a bit of an Antarctic anorak so got this right away.

I always had this image of Oates as something similar to Captain Birdseye.

In reality he was in his early 30s and looked like this (pic could have been taken yesterday)

  20. Hmm , I'm not sure that it's an "age group" issue ..... I think it's more the "group" that fail to recognise
the huge value of the wisdom that is stored in books .

" The person who does not read good books has no advantage over the person that cannot "
