He's certainly made from the right stuff, broke the mold and all that jazz from day zero, but the human body can only take so much punishment.
I agree, there is a limit to what anyone including MM can rebound from. At 29 years old MM will likely believe he has plenty of invincibility left. I think MM will only quit when he has recovered as fully as he is able to, and competed for a full season without getting results. Or if he has an accident which prevents him from racing.
Banged his head again though. As has been said so many times, the human body will not rebound from that forever.
Further surgery again after this weekend and likely out for the rest of the season. His arm must be mostly made up of metal and scar tissue by now. At his age his years retired are going to amount to a lot more than his years racing, J just hope he thinks it was all worth it and if he’s doing it just to beat Rossi I think that’s quite sad?

You’ll only see a racer like him come along once in a lifetime. But yeah, unfortunately I’d say he’s fucked. Had some big old bangs. Definitely seems to have lost his edge. Hope he wraps it while he’s still in one piece. Christ, he was entertaining to watch!!

Personally I admire his determination, confidence and self belief. Whether the "best" decision is to walk away or not, I'm happy to see Marquez making those choices himself.
I was a big MM fan when he was up and coming. In Moto 3 he started off being a quick, young rider who showed some respect. Sadly, as he began winning, his darker side came out. That “win at any cost” mentality started taking out other riders, like the type of riding Pedrosa & Honda accused Super Sic of. Unfortunately, no one, least of all the FiMafia, did sod all about it… Then the Rossi debacle etc etc etc….. Personally, if I never see MM race again I won’t be bothered but I do wish him well in his recovery. karma can bite.. perhaps it has?

He is finished imo. This is the last roll of the dice for Marc. He should enjoy his retirement in the knowledge that he was top dog and only injury could beat him. I wish him well, but racing moves on.
That might be Honda’s opinion too, obviously Repsol and Dorna will be very keen for him to keep racing so Honda might have to find another very fast Spanish rider to take his place?
Could be an opportunity to chill and maybe jump from Honda. can’t hurt at this point to have a go on another brand. Or atleast in my mind. I reckon he’d go well on the Ducati

Not really, in my lifetime I've seen Sheene, Doohan, Rossi, Joey etc, he is one of the greats but he ain't the be all and end all of aliens.... plus he's a bone fide unlikable twunt regardless of his flawed talent, he has crashed himself into this situation.
You are right of course, his injuries may never allow him to regain his winning ways. Though I think we can all be sure he is going to give it everything to do so. I very much doubt we have seen the last of him on the top step.
