The most sensible post on this thread. Of course, owning a Ducati has naff-all to do with being sensible, so bollocks to that, go out and buy a Superlego if you want one, it's your money. If we all bought what everyone else advised us to buy we'd all end up on CB500's.
You'll miss the 4th gear 120mph power wheelies Its a funny world when we recommend a 148hp bike as it's easier, years back the 148hp bike was the monster and people recommended a 120hp bike as more useable....have the roads got bigger or people changed ?
If anything, compared to my old 1098S, it's actually tamer, as it has all the ABS and TCS goodies, comfier riding position and dare I say it, softer? So I would say whilst it's faster, it's not a harder machine to ride compared to it's older brothers.
Compared to my 1098 and 1198S riding the 1199 in anger on track with the electronics on minimum it was harder work than either but ultimately more rewarding, none of the mentioned bikes are the wrong choice as they are all pretty awesome so you can't really go wrong
Well after doing some 100kms this weekend I can truly say the 899 is way more than what I was looking for. The 1199 would had been too much bike for me. I'm 100 percent satisfied with the purchase. -Thanks, Fabricio
Hope this post helps others with their desicion. Im no expert rider but I feel I'm not a noob. I would think the 1199 would be hard to handle and maybe one would need to fight with it to keep it under control.
