Ironically I'm 95% complete on the supermoto build (shakedown on Saturday) just working out how to ask for another hyper...!
Funny you should mention the Hyperstrada. Never seen one on the road or even heard anyone talking about them on here. I'd have hazarded a guess that it wasn't a great seller, but that's not based on any information apart from the above.
My every day bike is a 96 Africa Twin ... For me I don't know about the rest of you folks but I don't do the same as every one else hence the Africa Twin. For me the bike has to look good to start with and be different. The only reason i went for the Hyper was a friend here at work had it and he looks after his bikes. He had just brought a 748 Streetfighter hence the Hyper was for sale. I looked at the KTM 's yes there more popular and yes more power but for me looks over power every time and the Ducati has the looks for sure and you cant say you see them every day ! Im 6.2 and the duke fits me a treat compact yes but ok for around 100 miles. Just rolling on the throttle in 2nd off the traffic lights opps up comes the front wheel opps again there's 3rd still on the back wheel and yes should know better at my age but what a giggle so roll on the summer and some sticky tarmac Long live the " Hypermotard"
I see more Hypers than Streetfighters so do not think it is the least popular. I love mine - great fun.
I love mine the 748R didn't get a look in ! My mate has one and another is looking at an SP So much fun
I love my 821 SP. a real head turner, especially with the high Termi and baffles out I don't see many in central london, but, as previously observed, I see even less Diavels and Streetfighters....
Love my 796HM,still not really anything out there I'd sell it for!Termi's,LV de-cat pipe and flash-tuned.....even now it still has the grin factor after owning it for nearly five years
Chased after a used SP today loaded with extras but alas too tall ,way taller than my Pikes Peak, even if lowered no goer. So, ordered the hypermotard 939 going to replicate the new SP colours and get Maxton to lower it. Glad to hear not many about and that those that own them appreciate and enjoy them
When will the 939 be in the showrooms , is it basically the same bike as the 821 with just a new engine
Interesting to read and watch reviews but, not for me, they missed the boat.... Again.... Que reviews along the line of - "makes the 821/1100 look like a pile of shite...." and then in turn a year later the 1100 evo sp becomes a "hidden gem...."
Couldnt spot any other changes apart from the engine and the sp now has gold forks instead of black chrome
ditto. teh new one has slightly different front indicators. nothing too radical. I like the 821 sp better for some reason...
