Man after my own heart, this hole thing was about do people have the to take the law into there own hands,in my opinion on this occasion.im 58 done trackdays Crashed ,on the road crashed, ive got grandkids, why do people keep saying if you were speeding, someone died there, fk off its a danger to road users sorry to rant mate
At the end of the day I truly respect everyone for their input, advise, and help. No one wants to kill or be killed whilst riding . I do respect and feel sorry for the police as the law is a piisstake in our days, being a cavedweller bring back the old days-life means life. If i have upset anyone in the making of this i dont give a shit, ONLY JOKING thanks everyone for youre input
No because they will plot up so they can see you clearly and you them.they also have the right and authority, they wouldnt put motorists at risk on a bend
The A259, now I know where. I wouldnt speed to much on that road. Its too busy tbh. I was thereabouts at the weekend but further up between heathfield and hurst green. I avoid Eastbourne and esp Hastings on bank hols. I sped, but not excessively. Thats the thing, we all speed occassionally (lol), but I doubt of I got much beyond 70 on a 60 or 60 on a 50 etc. Always 30 in a 30 tho. However I reserve the right to boot it after the roundabout on A23 before Uckfield if its empty.
What utter nonsense. You were breaking the law and shitting yourself that you had been caught. If it had been a real speed camera you would have been caught and prosecuted. Maybe that needs to happen in your case.
If someone creates a distraction, trap or a hazard and it is reasonably foreseeable that this may result in an accident, then they may be liable in negligence to someone who suffers such an accident. Obviously this could be someone who braked suddenly when they saw the dummy camera and van, but it could also be someone following who ran into the back of a rider or driver in front who braked unexpectedly or who crashed and ended up becoming an obstacle or hazard in the carriageway, which then in turn caused the following rider/driver to crash. The law of contributory negligence is there to apportion the percentage of blame between the person who erected the dummy camera/van and the riders/drivers who crashed and this would depend on the facts of the case.
No problem. My personal view is that I’m getting a bit fed up with the snooping and snitching vigilantism which seems be increasingly tolerated and even encouraged, where any sanctimonious Tom, Dick or Harry with a dash or doorbell cam (or some plywood and a paint brush) feels empowered to set themselves up as a self-appointed guardian of public safety and morals.
And if drivers or riders were speeding and braked hard to stop being caught, then they would have contributed significantly to their own accident, surely? And if someone behind ran into the heavily braking vehicle then I would think they had also contributed significantly by being to close to the vehicle in front?
As my post made clear, whether and to what extent they’d be found to be authors of their own misfortune (ie: contributorily negligent) would depend on the facts of the case. For example, if Rider A crashed, their engine casing spilt and Rider B then lost the front on the resulting oil spillage, it’s easy to imagine a scenario where B would be found not to have been contributorily negligent to any degree. Also, as I’m sure you know, a motorcyclist doesn’t need to brake hard in order to lose control as merely touching the front brake lever can cause the front tyre to wash out if leaned over, or if there’s a steep camber on a RH bend, or if traction is poor (or all 3).
As in my original post, yes i was going quick, yes i did shit myself thinking im done.i was being totally honest. This is what i thought you did on a forum. So i do apologise if ive pissed people off it wasnt my intention. What i am pissed of with ive been procecuted, sentenced, and banged up by some people who missed the whole point . Thanks a fkn lot
This used to happen a lot back when police drove cars rather than sat in vans. Moral of the story……..don’t be a slowcoach Here endeth the lesson
If a rider or driver gets crashed into while speeding then braking hard, the following vehicle was also speeding, so just like the vehicle in front, is being driven or ridden by the spawn of satan.
Ok duke, you don’t know how fast I was going, are you sure you’re not the pub owner. You do remind of a lighthouse in the desert, bright but a complete waist of time, let go mate .
