Is your dealer actually any good ?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Couchy, Dec 20, 2012.

  1. As I said before, everyone has an off day, and no service centre will have a 100% record of customer satisfaction. A local independant I used to use in Gloucestershire sent me off after a full service with the rear brake torque arm still sat on his bench. His shop was at the top of a very steep hill...

But he was a good guy. After I changed my pants I went back and got it sorted, used him several more times before I moved out of the area. A genuine mistake is discountable, but if the dealer is charging full service prices but not fitting the parts you've paid for, that's just plain crooked, and they need to be outed.

  2. Thumbs up for Louigi

  3. Crimdon

  4. Somewhat oblique response Char but we get it :)

  5. Nope of course not  everyone should get what they pay for. But look at the examples on here, sure for every bad there are plenty good and if someone is having an off day they would be more likely to rip off a faceless customer...and as everyone knows, its who you now not what you know

  6. Bradders your comment hints at a deliberate action rather than a mistake and that does not warrant restraint from the victim. I would not be shy in naming a shop for those actions.

  7. in moto croydon = shit

  8. I got your point bradders, even if no-one else did.

Desmoboy, bradders is not saying you'll automatically get bad service if you're a stranger. Loyal customers are gold dust to any business, and any business will bend over backwards for that person. It doesn't mean everyone else is getting a shit service, far from it.

  9. You're right, and that seems the experince some are describing; parts off other bikes, work not done, parts not replaced.

if I found a dealer or anyone did that to me or mine, I'd be off the rooftops telling everyone to avoid. Its not acceptable under any conditions. In that respect, there are no second chances. And joking and jibing aside, I wouldnt take my bike to anyone I thought ripped other people off either

  10. That's not what i thought Bradder's meant at all.

  11. Here's another issue, though. A dealer can't always keep tabs on his employees 24/7, and as I'm sure a lot of people here know there are a lot of untrustworthy employees around. God knows I've employed most of 'em:mad:

That's why it's important to speak directly to the dealer if you have a problem, rather than rant to a bunch of strangers on a forum. More often than not the dealer will sort it straight away and, more importantly, remember you the next time you appear. I've no doubt there are shonky dealers around - and indeed I've met some - but they are very much in the minority. We should remember that.

  12. The thumbs-up I just got from him would suggest I read it right.

  13. With respect, Bradder's cant possibly tell you what i meant.

  14. I can barely tell what I mean

  15. Well ive just bought a Panigale S from a dealer 3 weeks ago in Reading not even ridden it the bike has Pi**ed oil all over my garage floor all I will say is steer clear from this dealer they have not got a clue when it comes to Ducati I would rather travel now to get decent service

  16. They are like puppies you have to train them to piss outside only ;)

  17. Very true haha !!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Does anyone have any comments on service from Ducati Wolverhampton?

Ive had a couple of services done on my evo which have seemed fine but there communication and completion dates etc always vary.

  19. Have only had bad experiences of my local main dealer. It was 5 years ago now but negotiated and agreed a deal on my 999 then they refused to honour it. When I collected the bike it continually spilt water overheating. Went back at least half a dozen times but had already realised once they have your money they couldn't care less. Eventually left it and told them to keep it until fixed - found it was a leaking head gasket. They even chipped the frame and tank doing the work then denied doing it but I had been over every inch of the bike before deciding to buy it. Over priced and under qualified. Occassionally go in for a look at gear but still get the same "superior" attitude from the salesmen. Or is that because they see I'm not riding a Harley (their other dealership)?

I've since been visting Rich at Louigi Moto. Cracking bloke, knows everything there is to know and cares about his customers and their bikes. He even gave me a bo****ing for the state I brought it back from a trip around Ireland!!

  20. When I decided I wanted to buy a Diavel Red, I went to Ducati Aylesbury to examine the possibilities. Unfortunately, they did not have one in stock, and were not allowed by Ducati to order another ( I assume because of the 2013 MXY changes)..
