Sure, that I gather lol not necessarily looking at building the fastest thing alive, i've got that with the 'blade... and it has to fall within the budget of the project... I like the idea of the 999 engine though. Is there anywhere that lists the differences between the standard 748 frame and an R spec?
Not really listed its basically about a cross member that crosses somewhere between your knees. i bet you could google for photos, with the r shape cross member and the 999 deep sump engine you could then use a 998 carbon air box all bolt in if you wanted something to fabricate then use a modded streetfighter swing arm, ttx ohlins shock and 1098rs rocker set up....
Google is our friend for sure lol... Now those bits sound like a plan. Nothing strictly looking to have to fabricate more along the lines of using the best OE bits so it looks stock, I did that on my 'blade, I hated the seat setup so swapped out for a 2006 R1 seat unit and fairing, with underhung exhaust cans, if the carbon tips ever arrive I may actually fit the things lol..
You can easily mod the frame with deeper crossmembers (wish I had done that with mine when I fitted a 748R airbox). Personally I would go with a 999 engine or a 1098, and not an earlier one purely from a reliability point of view. If you fit a later 1098 swingarm you will have a lot of work regarding linkages so maybe easier to fit a standard one (or a longer mag one if you are feeling flush with cash)
Aye...with a further 4 hour delay, although Thomas Cook say that it has nothing to do with their parent company going bankrupt. Call me cynical, but every TC flight today is delayed and still here. Business as usual they say....I wouldn't like to see it on a bad day. ;-)
tell me about it... there are thousand's of the buggers here!!! I am def not local and everything is all twelvety!!!!
