  1. That looks well nice! Know exactly what you're saying...

  2. I'm with you on that mate, though I must be honest and say I like the bike no matter the colour of its skin.
My main issue with white though is the bloody flies! I have quite a collection completely visible!

  3. I find that the bike inspires confidence through the corners. I feel totally planted when leant over, and the engine braking is perfect if you go in a little too fast!

I'm really surprised of the comfort too. I had a local ride for 3.5 hours on Tuesday and the only thing that ached was my mouth from smiling so much!

I have a 220 mile ride to do next week which should be a breeze?!

  4. I wish I could do the same. Have to work a lot of the weekend. But better times will come! ;-)
I've got my bike at work so the little free time I have, I can just hop on it and go for a blast. Better than nowt.

  5. That's rubbish!
I didn't plan it at all but I'd booked a week off work, and to make it even better, my wife is taking our 5 week old to see the family for 5 days. I currently feel blessed!!

  6. Mr Sheen is your friend :upyeah:

  7. Really? Never tried that before but will nip out with a tin later! Thanks

  8. I've not washed any of my bikes for years. Mr Sheen (other proprietary brands are available) does the job admirably! :)

  9. Hahaha!
Can't say I've heard of a better recommendation before in my life! Now where has she hidden it???

  10. Congrats, bike looks great.

Get the supencion set uo for your weight, it will tranform the bke for the better.

  11. Avoid polish with wax, its terrible, use the good old fashioned stuff. And for really ground in stuff leave it on a while and use soft brush, works great on wheels

  12. Thanks 749sDub. When I get some free time I'll research and sort out the suspension. It feels bloody good as it is so I'm in no rush, but is on the top of my list.

I must admit bradders, I tried Mr Sheen and it didn't like the flies at all, even after 5 mins, so I opted for a bit of water followed by car polish (Mer).
Having said that, there are lots of stone chips on the nose so to save myself any future upset I'm going to try to not clean it again!

  13. Mer was good on the wheels. Not sure what possessed me to polish the wheels but they came up a treat!

  14. I use " vulcanet wipes" for general cleaning and silicone spray for the wheels / black plastic and rubber pits...

  15. Cheap pound shop polish is the ticket as it rarely has wax in it, Wax from a aerosol can causes the finish to smear and mark easier. So Mr sheen and the likes are not really so great in my opinion if your after a quick fix to make the bike look fresh and clean.

Crazy comparison I know but it's the same for polishing guitars etc... because they are handled so much if you use wax polish they look a mess just 5 minutes afterwards.

For a proper 2-3 hours clean and polish etc.. I always use Meguiars detailing mist and a clay bar then their paint cleaner then autoglim 'red label' resin polish and then some carnauba wax. I'm a proper detailing geek I know!

Cleaning wheels I found that the pound shop engine degreaser in an aerosol can works amazingly well, £1 a tin! And it doesn't leave an oil residue or make your tires slippery if it runs off the rim like silicone based products do.

ACF50 is amazing at bringing matt black plastic up and lasts 10 times as long as back to black etc.. even hides brake fluid bleaching! Amazing stuff! :)
