I remember pointing out Japanese Knotweed to @rotaxracer as we were hooning up a mountainside in France, for some reason he wasn’t that interested!
i can't find the letter they sent but i have contacted the council and asked for there contact details, i will pass them on when they respond
As an aside, do you know how your neighbour ended up with Japanese Knotweed on their property. I see it’s not illegal to grow the stuff on your property, but no idea why anyone would...
Haven’t a clue where it originated from This property is an investment property and owned by an uncaring landlord. I can recall this being in their garden for years, when I say garden don’t get any fancy ideas of it being a garden, more an open dumping ground. She recently removed the brick built boundary wall as it was leaning badly and replaced it with pre-formed concrete base and wooden panel fence. Since then the knotweed has been able to spread unhindered. I’m hoping @s1imster had dealings with the same company, I’m looking forward to that conversation.
Carr01 i have had a message back off wyre forrest council that they contract Landtech uk ltd for knotweed removal but have used other companies in the past
It’s not the same company that’s quoted me. It may have been a good counterpoint to use. All the same thanks for taking the time to dig this out.
Horrible stuff. There have been reports about it spreading from one side of a motorway to the other (under the motorway) and even pushing through concrete.
Sadly you do need to inform the council and see a solicitor to raise an action against the neighbour, it's their fault you have it. Removing it can be hit and miss and very expensive. You may be able to get costs for loss of house value and removal, the fact next door has it will affect your properties value considerably.
