Not my favourite rider but gutted for him and also the championship as you always want the best out there regardless of who you follow... it will certainly make it a much tighter season this year then.... can't pick one out of Dovi, Quartararo or Vinales, but would like to see a Dovi title, especially if he takes a year out end of this year..

 

The way MM was taking places going into the last corner (Lorenzo corner??) was absolutely incredible to watch. He was breaking traction front and rear. Unbelievable. For anyone that’s done Jerez, that corner is the trickiest after turn two. No man on Earth can ride a bike like MM. Hope he GWS

 

Love him or hate him, I hope Marc Marquez makes a full recovery. He is always on the edge and has never really had a bad injury but having a completely detached A/C myself 10 years ago with extensive surgery, each day is painful, the big difference is MM is half my age and twice as fit as me!

Incredible riding by MM. So on it every corner, how he finds that limit is just insane.

This season will now be a lot more open for others to shine. Should be a good mix. Would be awesome if Casey Stoner came into the mix, including his front teeth ey......

 

Marquez showed once again how above everyone else’s level he is, not just in the save bit te way he cut thru a wordclass field to a podium spot from over 10 seconds back.

 

The issue with MM today was even though he made everyone look like amateurs', he is the only one who can beat himself. He absolutely needed to push to try and get away from the yamaha's and in doing so tucked the front, fair enough, great save and incredible recovery, but then when he was up to 3rd place he just didn't need to be pushing at a level that resulted in a crash like that, and look what it's cost him.

I know all the arguments for 'racers will push 100%' but this is the shortest season ever, with the most races in the shortest time and I just don't think MM stops to think about the long game, which for someone with as many championships as him is his weekness.

I think Fabio is the real deal, maybe MM is rattled, but either way, if he sits out next week and Fab is on the podium again he's 40-45 points down with maybe 7-10 races left

 

He definitely going to be “sitting out next week” Phil, think that’s probably his season over! Fabio looks the business but MM is still on another planet imo. Great shame but he just can’t ride any other way

 

Problem is , whoever wins the championship it will always be tainted with "If Marquez had been fit..."

 

not a huge mm fan, personality wise but he is probably the best rider ever... that said he has competition in quat. quat is fast as fuc and smooth, picking up where he left off last year it was great to see him win his first.
mm was pushing so hard to prove a point it was little wonder he came unstuck, i hope hes not badly hurt but its a reminder that you have to ride within the limits no matter how good you are. quat for this years title i say....
good days racing though! was hoping for better from dixon, its a shame lowes missed out on a podium and mc fee was robbed but it all got the heart pumping for sure....

very true but if mm was as clever as he thin.s he is, he wouldnt have crashed. no need to push that hard.

 

The question for me at the moment is who will stand in for him...

Bradl is the only obvious choice I can think of.

pedrosa is contracted elsewhere.

cant see stoner making a comeback.

lorenzo is sitting at home but would he want it... probably not with how long it takes him to get a bike right for him

 

And that’s the thing, with reference to ‘he won it because Marquez fell off’ well, likewise Marquez was lapping 1 sec faster than dovi but is now in hospital and Dovi’s on a podium bonus and chalked up 16 points, so it doesn’t matter! Gotta get to the line
