Jerez Motogp # Spoiler#

  1. So true. He should know better with multiple titles under his belt. Sometimes, in the long game, 2nd-3rd is worth more later on, rather than on the day.....

He could have let off 10% and still cruised to a solid second place.

  2. Feeling a little smug. This will not last though...

  4. Yeah that's what someone more experienced/ mature would have done.
That's his weakness, we saw it in Argentina, he has no self control, and goes all out to prove a point.
Don't get me wrong talented guy, but as many have said, he's the only one to beat himself, and these injuries/weaknesses are catching up with him now.
Couple more and his career will be over, never mind his season.

  6. Dr. Mir was citing possible radial nerve damage to MM's right arm. Soft tissue and nerve damage (quite apart from broken bones) usually require much longer to heal and some rehabilitation is almost a certainty in the form of physiotherapy to reduce muscle wastage during recovery and improve mobility and strength in the arm. Personally I think that's his season shot, given the shortened calendar. I've had two lots of spinal surgery and after the first procedure was told that my arm's brachial nerve had suffered some compression damage. It's still not 100% and that was a few years ago but nerve axons can and do re-grow up to 5mm a day, so it took a while to eventually reach my left hand from my neck (the source of the compression damage) where I lost some sensitivity. The second op has improved things considerably however.

  7. This is Marquez though, I can’t see a thing other than him trying to ride at round 3, because actually if he’s that quick this year maybe he can button it off and bring it home in the top 6. I think he will try to come back really really early! Remember Lorenzo smashed his collarbone on the Practice at assen, flew home had it operated on, and rode on the Sunday for a rostrum

  8. Wouldn’t it be ace if Stoner had a bash? He’s only 34, fit as a flea. Might be down to his last 10 mil....

  9. He was still disgustingly fast when he was testing for HRC - but I don't think he's interested

  10. Yep, he was the only man on Earth capable of bitch slapping Rossi now and again. And that’s when Rossi was on it.
I bet he has urges to have a go again. He must do!
But watching that race yesterday was a reminder that no one is gonna get near the podium without having their conkers right in it. 100% commitment required. Which is why JR retired and perhaps Casey Stoner too....

  11. Stoner isn't a very well man, at all.. Suffering hugely with chronic fatigue syndrome and some injuries that affected him through his later career. Even if he wanted to I think he will struggle.

  12. I didn’t know Casey Stoner was ill. I would happily step up to the mark and finish his wife off, with my Mari-golds and face mask....

  13. Lorenzo and Pedrosa are the only ones with recent Repsol experience. I wonder how tight Pedrosa’s KTM contract is.

  14. I always wanted to see Dani on a yam...

  15. Thoughts on Rossi ?
I’m a big fan but it feels a bit gut wrenching to see him so uncompetitive now. Doesn’t seem to matter what they do ,he struggles to get any part of the bike working as it should.

  16. Why did he just let marquez through, that looked a bit strange

  17. The technique and level has moved on, he hasn't, in my opinion of course.

  18. His front tyre was shot, thats why he pulled out before the finish.

  19. I must say he always looked as if he could do with pie and chips here and there.

  20. I think it's the yamaha to be honest. It's now on it's second/third? season of being noncompetitive.

As mentioned above, the technique has changed.. potentially also an issue.

I wouldn't say the level is any higher. It's as high as it can be at any given time on the given machines and tech. I don't get in to the whole BEST EVER thing. Look at what Schwantz, Rainey, Gardiner & Lawson etc were doing on those death trap 500's ffs! I try to look at best of an era.
