Cal has more mongrel in him than nearly anyone else on the grid! I reckon he could be a factory yamaha rider next year...
Sofa, sofa critic like most of us. I do enjoy it today. Maybe, maybe. I like BBC coverage and commentary. So in my book he shows he is trying not just circulating. Even if you treat VR's race as touring trip it is a boring one....
Woohoo! Casey found .5 in the penultimate lap - he loved it too! Geez eh guys? He's lucky he listens to you lot, sitting out practice, arm pump experts etc ... he's never won at Jerez before and now he has more points than he had at this stage last year. Get that up ya!
Well done Stoner, Looks like Lorenzo shot his front tyre ? And as i said TP Hayden faded to just ahead of Rossi. Ducati are in a world of shit!
At least Nicky was up the front having a go eh? Even if he didn't last. Jorge's laptimes were pretty consistent, not sure he had a problem but we'll find out in a tic I suppose. I think Casey just had a little more - maybe he was sandbagging  Sitting out the wet warm up ... confident little bugger isn't he!
Au contraire! He got valuable brand exposure dicing up the front - especially with this 'round the outside' passes! So he did all that and still beat Vale ... it's not Nicky who needs the finger pointing at.
Plan there all the time Steve.....took your advice.....joking! Things might not be quite so bad at Ducati. Nicky is happy, and I think VR will be fine in a while. Still think he is suffering from Marcos death, but what do I know?
I think Nicky is doing a good thing. He rides it like it needs to be ridden and even if he fades away there is data from race showing when, possibly why and so on. They can act on it and compare race to race. You know Race 1 no good, Race 2 good for 5 laps, race 3 good for x a small steps but forward is what is needed. Do not think Rossi is fine something is amiss there as I said it before and agree with 749er I think Marcos death was a turning point for him weather he knows it or not.
The Ducati is shit and so far from winning a race. The CRT's look like they have a hell of a lot to do to be competitive. Looking forward to seeing Cal take a win soon..hopefully at Silverstone.
I can see them making MotoGP into something along the lines of Moto2. Control 1000cc engines? It's just not interesting when you compare it to SBK, Moto3 and Moto2
Valentino Rossi has finally given in and will change his riding style from the Estoril round to suit a new setting which makes his Desmosedici handle more like a Ducati and less like a Yamaha or Honda. The Doctor used setup data from Nicky Hayden for the first time in today's Jerez round and it gave him some of the feel he needs. He has admitted he has been going the wrong way with his setting, saying the Ducati needs to long, low and flat instead of having weight pitching back and forward. "I am quite satisfied about the result today. For sure it is not fantastic and we have to do better but I think the race of today is quite important for make a step in the next races because today I ride with another setting more in a Ducati style," said The Doctor, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening. "We were unlucky during the weekend as I had this setting to try from Friday morning but is always bad, bad conditions so we don't have time for understand and starting with completely new setting for the race, I lose too much time at the beginning and for that reason I was not fighting with Nicky and the other guys. At the end I had quite a good pace and so I am happy for the next race, we will try this setting from the beginning. "With this bike from the first test we try to make a setting that make some feeling that I had in the past. Unfortunately it is not the right way. This bike need something different and I need to ride a little bit in a different way. The setting is more similar to Nicky's, more like a Ducati setting with some adjustment. This bike need to be low and long and more flat. I am used to have a bike which is pitching more which give me a different feeling but this is not the right way. "I need to modify the lines and the way to approach the corner. This setting give to me I can brake harder and especially put the bike into the corner in a better way so from when I can feel a bit better I can modify the style."
