OMG!!! you used a jet wash on a yellow SS your lucky it didn't fall apart TLC only otherwise you will be hung drawn and quartered for abusing your bike ;-)
Hi Ducbird I know, I know, but this suff was horrible and all over the place, rear wheel, engine etc. had no choice. problem was i got too close with the damm thing. I think perhaps the Yellow version is what saved the day, had it been Red i may have been in real trouble.... don't shout me down i'm just having a laugh. Was one step away from washing my FZ1 N while i was at it but stopped as my tea was ready  I WILL NEVER EVER GO NEAR IT AGAIN WITH A JET WASH - I HAVE LEARNED MY LESSON. Really greatful for all the help from this site as well, lot of good people out there
Pressure washers in their own right are no problem - it's the misuse of them that causes all the aggro. Like throttles, the switch works both ways. You can have a pencil or shower spray and you can get close or not..........just stand further away and be patient. When the wide shower spray is about a metre from the bike it's no more vicious than your average rainy day. Not many people know that................ Use a decent spray cleaner (Muc-off or similar) to loosen the grime and the oil, then wash it off gently, with the pressure washer. Hell, you can even get in there with a brush..........not rocket science. Pressure washers are not a magic solution - there is no such thing. Not many people know that............
I hear you supervee - i use my pressure washer all the time on the car without issue. I even had degreaser, muc-off and all kinds on it for a good couple of minutes before i set about washing it off. However i have to admit that your right, i got too close and was impatient. so much so that i even managed to remove a section of my wheel rim tape. Had some left over for the original job so managed to do a nice repair on it. I am reall anoyed at myself because i should and do know better. Still i shall not forget my error in a hurry i can tell you. Cheers
Glad to hear it you naughty person I use wd40 to get chain lube off wheels etc but spray on cloth first I used to just washed over with soapy water and sponge and rinse off using a watering can. Dizzy had her own soft towel to finish off too :-D Takes all day but beats doing the ironing/washing up
