It's brave, for sure. Not sure I'd do that with a broken collarbone though, not without having it checked first. The problem is there is an artery that goes through there so any displacement of the bone can cause some very nasty damage. There's also a large bunch of nerves that run through there. I've had shoulder surgery three times now and I just wouldn't risk the amount of damage that could be done - it could be life changing. That said, a quick plate up and out you go.
