  2. Thanks, that is the reason I ask about their jeans as I have heard the gloves and protectors they do are great.

I have also read a new regulation for motorcycle clothing starts in April. See details below:

  3. Great thread, some really helpful experiences and advice here.

I have a pair of Draggin jeans (fully lined Kevlar),
But they’re a bit too baggy for my liking so fancy a tighter fit.

I like the look and sound of the hoods. But has anyone any experience of the Dainese jeans? They look great, but not sure how they compare to Hood.

    Thanks

  4. So I ended up buying a pair of RokkerTech slim jeans on the weekend at the MotoLegends shop and I could not be happier. Baring in mind i have rugby thighs and was worried the slim jeans would not fit. They do a wider version if needed.
The advice and information provided by the staff at Motolegends is brilliant, the shop seems very small, but they have a massive warehouse full of stock. There is allot of gear to try on and a motorbike in the shop to make sure you get that exact fit / feeling from what you are about to purchase. At £350 for a pair of jeans it is expensive, but I will keep these for many years and are worth the price. Plus come with the lifetime guarantee which is a no brainer.

  5. I've just got myself some Hood Jeans, the K7. I have to say I'm impressed. Fully lined, comfy and the armour is top notch. Also they don't look like something Jeremy Clarkson would wear, smart enough to keep on at your destination.

  6. Hows the sizing on the new Hood's please? The pair I have are the old version and are spot on to the inches measurement.

  7. It's nice to hear that motorcycle jeans are fully lined now.

  8. Mine were spot on, same as my regular pair. Fairly thick with the lining but regular cut. Just buy the size you normally wear and you'll be ok. They also do free returns etc.

  10. I’m off to MotoLegends later today to check out their stock... they seem to have some great options, all of them stylish as well as high quality. Will report back...

  11. Just did the same!

I had no intention of buying Rokker and had my eyes on some other options around the 150 to 200 range. The nice lady suggested I try a pair of Rokkers, and well they were miles better fit and feel. So pleased I read this thread, I had never heard of them.

Motolegends lived up to their reputation too... great shop and the sort of service you just don’t get most places. Well worth the round trip from Portsmouth to Guildford.

  12. I've been watching this thread with interest. I suspect a visit to Motolegends will be on the cards on the way back from the chunnel at the end of the month. If only to see what they've got and try some on to see how they fit and feel. By all accounts I'll come away a few £££ lighter and with some new strides :D

  13. I've had 2 pairs of hood jeans k7 and B15.

I was keen to support a British brand and went fully lined on both. The Best bit was you could specify the length as I struggled to find anything else's long enough. In the end I wore them more in the spring and autumn then the summer as they were pretty warm.

However after a couple of years I sold both pairs and got some rokker revolutions. Expensive yes, but i am happy With the upgrade.

Either way they are mainly restricted to round town duties.

  14. great thread, bookmarked for future purchase advice

  15. Dropped into Motolegends yesterday on the way back from a trip on the bike to France. What a great retailer, nothing too much trouble, very friendly. Left with a pair of Rokker Rokkertech Slim jeans, got to say that the quality seems really good and the fit is great (slim fit), took a while trying on a few styles and sizes before making a decision, they were happy to oblige (at the price I was grateful of their patience...) and the range of waist sizes (inch increments) and length options was impressive. The included D3O armour is almost unnoticeable. Will look forward to using them over the summer.

Also bought a pair of Rukka Rytmi gloves on impulse, really nice pair of summer gloves. Not that I don't have some already... I have something of a 'problem' when it comes to buying gloves

Thank you to those on here who recommended Rokker and Motolegends :upyeah:

  16. @Bumpkin - I've used mine a lot these last few weeks. Still delighted. I also bought a Dainese Union Evo online to go with them, so now my Dainese road jacket zips to my Rokkers! Great peace of mind along with comfort and practicality.

  17. Thanks for the tip/reminder. Although I have a couple of Dainese leather jackets I also have a Richa Goodwood jacket that should go really well with the Rokker jeans. These have a short joining zipper along with the mating half. I need to get something similar made up to work in the same way. There's a local seamstress I've used for this sort of stuff before, will what she says.

EDIT: Brain wave... have ordered the Dainese Union Evo, will pick it apart and stitch in the Richa joining zipper alongside the Dainese one so I can use it with any of my jackets :):upyeah:

  18. Sorry just saw this post... if you’ve not bought the Dainese item, I’d hold off and have it made. I’ve found the Union Evo a bit flimsy - started to tear already. I think it’s plastic not leather. At any rate, you might be better off just having something made that matches the spacing for the Rokker jeans between the hoops.

  19. Thanks, regrettably I'm a man of impulse and ordered one. You're right, not the quality I would expect from Dainese TBH, thin plastic and for £35! Dammed extortionate for what it is. Fits the Rokker jeans well though. Can see that it might not last long if used frequently.

However, I should have done my research more thoroughly as Richa do their own version for half the price, so rather than chop the Dainese one around I've ordered one of those too. Both will get used but the Richa one the most I imagine.

EDIT: Richa connector arrived this morning, as per images from vendor; it's shorter than the Dainese one and needed adapting slightly to fit the Rokker two rear belt loops. However, it's made of leather, even at half the price, and fits well with the jacket. Should last well by the looks of things. Probably not quite as protective as the Dainese version due to being short though.
