The thing about crashing in leathers is that you tend to slide and not tumble, smacking various bits off the tarmac.
Doubt you would slide very far in knitwear, it would probably catch fire...

 

Thank fuck he was not wearing a skirt or this thread would be out of control

 

I’ve had gaffa tape over my leathers a few times…may have even put jacket over leathers with broken zip once
