I use a lanyard just for the bike key, but when I first started using it I would get on the bike all zipped up and realise my key was on the lanyard and I had to unzip again (while my mates were half a mile down the road) I always remember to put it on the lanyard when we stop though
Well I've bought a lanyard but am not that sure it's working for me as I now have 3 keys plus a pocket full of lanyard, and my bike key separately but in the same pocket... Now I'm paranoid that if I pull the lanyard out, the bike key will go flying without me noticing. I do prefer to have all of the keys together, so have just bought one of these: http://onestop-key-rings.co.uk/quick-release-key-ring-nickel-plated-p-68.html So when I'm on the bike, the only key there is the bike key, when I get off, they're all happily reunited.
I seriously can't believe you don't know the best way to look after/keep your keys. How do you get dressed in the morning?
Errrr it's supposed to go round your neck If it's in your pocket put all 3 keys on it while not in use then take the bike key off it when riding but keep the other round your neck You need looking after
The downside of the Multistrada keyless ignition is when you're away at a race meeting camping with your bike next to your tent it's very easy to be woken up by your smart arse mates starting the bike in the morning so the crowd gathered outside your tent can all take photos as you leap out wearing only a pair of boxers thinking it's being nicked. Next time it'll be parked a bit further away and have a big lock on it so the fuckers can't even push it close enough to my tent so they can start it.
I keep the bike key on a lanyard around my neck with no other keys. If the key is not in the lock, it is on the lanyard. All / Any other keys are in a Kriega bum bag along with my wallet / phone / house keys etc etc.
I can't be bothered to trawl the forum to confirm it but I guess from your numerous posts criticising Multis' reliability that you've had bad experiences with one. Please elaborate. Mine - 7,500 miles since taking delivery on April 20 - has been a joy to own and ride.
Thats how i have mine. Theres nothing worse than keys bouncing about on your yoke/tank and causing damage. In the house a key safe where I keep all my keys when im not using them. Nice & easy.
