Klim Latitude ?

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by ymfb, Jan 20, 2023.

  1. #38 I think it’s that Motolegends don’t/won’t stock the (eye wateringly expensive) top of the Stadler range. Only stocking what you know you can sell is a pretty good business model IMO. Andy

  2. It is but ML only sell the basic stuff (which is not comparable to Rukka) and Stadler themselves sell the stuff that is much better than Rukka. I think that ML actually had their Stadler suit built to their price and spec since I've never seen it anywhere else that sells Stadler gear.

  3. Yes, as long as you don't then compare what you happen to sell with what you do in a negative light without explaining it's not apples vs. apples.

  4. Perhaps they have an exclusive distribution agreement for a certain line which is why you don’t see it elsewhere? Also I know they don’t always like to stock what they perceive to be uncomfortable AAA rated suits.

I can sense you don’t like them but I find their reviews and opinions helpful (even if they do often bang the drum for certain solutions).

I can’t offer an opinion on the OP’s question but I would echo the view that Klim make excellent gear and I’m very happy with my Marrakesh jacket.

  5. Very happy with my Marrakesh and my zephyr which is why I’m pondering the latitude. Not sure if there’s £1k difference between other suits and the latitude. Looks like a cracker. Only concern is the glove/cuff Velcro issue for me.

  6. Are you saying the pockets on the front aren't waterproof? That's news to me. I'm off to do more research now

Edit : Yes, the Louis site describes them as non-waterproof but there's no mention of that on the Klim site or other sites

Does anyone here actually own a latitude and have first hand experience?

  7. I notice no claims are made on the web site/video for the pockets but the pockets for the important documents are all located inside the jacket. Andy

  8. Yes I own one, and yes the pockets have been waterproof so far.

  9. Can you get the sleeves over winter gloves or do they have to go inside the glove?

  10. I usually wear shorter cuff gloves but I think I have some old full length gloves somewhere - I’ll dig them out later, try it and report back.

  11. Ok - I have tried with an old pair ixs longer winter gloves with thicker padded cuffs and double wrist fasteners etc.

First one was tolerable, second was a definite faff.

It is doable but I wouldn’t want that drama all the time - if you don’t fill up often and don’t need to remove gloves for satnav/phone duties, probly ok, but not for me - the weight of the sleeves and thickness of fabric means I don’t get much draft so I’ll stick with short cuffs.

  12. Thanks, that’s most useful. I can see I’m going to have to go to the one & only dealer here in ROI, with my gloves and try it out.

March to Nov it won’t be a problem I’m sure but Dec to Feb, when I’ve got the winter gloves out, it may be an issue - damn.

  13. Really does depend on the length and thickness….like so much in life.

  14. Motolegends just sent an email saying that Klim are increasing their prices from 1st Feb by at least 10%
    ———————
We have just come out of a meeting with Klim to discuss deliveries on new gear for 2023, price rises and so on.

Now even though the new prices have not yet been confirmed, they will be in the next day or so, and Klim will expect us, and all their other dealers, to have the new prices on the website first thing next Wednesday morning. That’s just five days away.

Even though Klim couldn’t confirm the prices today, what they did tell us was that everything will be going up by at least 10%. Many existing lines are going up by 20%. Some, we were told, will increase by 30%, although we are going to fight these ones because we simply cannot see the justification. And as one of these items is a layer that’s a particularly important product to us, we’re hoping the increase can be held to 20%. but apparently we won’t know the definitive position until Monday 30th.

But the bottom line is this. Everything from Klim will be going up by at least 10% in the middle of next week. That’s suits, helmets, gloves, jackets, boots, layers, accessories and so on. Everything.

If you want to beat the price rises, you are going to have to move fast.

Now we understand that there may not be enough time for you to get into see us before next Wednesday, so if there is something you have your eye on, you should perhaps just buy it now. We can set it aside here for you to pick up, or we can send it to you. You can then visit the shop to try it on to make sure it fits. Now if the size is wrong, we’ll swap the item over, respecting the price you paid. Or if you realise it’s not for you, we will issue a full refund.

It’s less straightforward, but to beat the price rises you can even order lines that are not in stock. If we have to order them in at the higher to price to fulfill your order, we will do that and, again, hold today’s price. Of course, if the out-of-stock item is not obtainable we will simply refund you.

Anyway, we are sorry about the slightly rushed, and short-term, nature of this proposition. But, in all honesty, Klim left the building only an hour or so ago. This was the first time that we had been told of significant price rises, so we were not in a position to contact you before now.

  15. Why am I not surprised ? Andy

  16. I visited Rugged Roads today, they don’t have last years Latitude as they have been returned and the new stock is expected mid February. What I did learn is the sizing is European and different from the Marrakesh, which is American.

I’m going to wait for the new Latitude as I’m in no rush and have various suits to keep me going.

  17. Rukka was always my go to. However after riding off-road was directed towards Klim which is the undisputed #1 for enduro etc. Virtually indestructible totally leak free, well vented. Just go one size down in jackets as they are big - trousers to waist size

  18. And what is the difference between the 2022 Latitude and the 23? Any idea please?
