Kr1000 Replica Build...

Discussion in 'Builds & Projects' started by Exige, May 15, 2013.

  1. yes, because their worth it.
maybe Paul will lend you his car, seems like a nice lad. he will for me. sure of it. take in a road race. there might be some old clunckers on show where you could draw some inspiration for yer..eh..build. do it.

  2. You’re an old clunker :bucktooth:

  3. Sure, we'd sort @Exige out something, might even do a deal for a week long stay. As for the car, SWMBO needs that 3 days a week to get to/from work but he can use the van; it's got 3 seats. If I can get my 748 put back together by then (whenever then is) I'll have a spare bike:). Fly-drive Exi, fly-drive.
ps. It's nicer here than Yorkshire:D, or N.Wales

  4. there you go. gerrit done.

  5. Quite agree, Emerald Isle and a 748 makes a great combination. Had 10 days out there on a 748 about 6 years ago and it was brilliant in spite of the wind and the rain. Great roads and friendly people. Highly recommended.

  6. Where is the best place to get one of these for an Aprilia RSVR or RSV4 - and where do you get the clutch lever to match as there are loads of master cylinders on Ebay but no clutch levers

  9. Well, the 1/2" aluminium tube for the top fairing mount was too thick wall section to bend without snapping (grade not ideal either) so after an hour modifying a small plumbers 12mm pipe bender to fit the slightly larger tube and changing the benders pivot centre +1mm with blow torch and hammer (on the link bracket) I just ended up with two pieces of tube instead of 1 exquisitely formed sculpture :worried:

But then the postman turned up with my 530 size 5/8" offset front sprocket - tried that and everything is cock on - chain alignment is within 0.5mm so well pleased. Just need to take it to work now to reduce the teeth width to 525" profile before ordering the correct larger 525 rear sprocket.

Small progress, but progress all the same :)

Also you can see in the last picture a piece of plastic mudguard that I was trialling made from a trailer mudguard. I still haven't decided to put a hugger on the bike, or leave it cleaner with a higher guard like this, or both, least of my worries really as I pick up the aluminium for the fuel tank on Monday :worried:

    Now the pub beckons :):upyeah:
