I wrote VAG, not Audi...VAG actually owns Porsche AG. However, Porche HSE(plus the Piech family) owns majority stake in VAG. Throw in the Unions, Lower Saxony and it gets messy. I hope we can agree that the old independent Ducati was not a cash rich company until bought by a German automotive conglomerate.

..and if we are going to take it to the end then, it's actually Porsche SE (Societas Europaea). Ducati is owned directly by Lamborghini
