I was thinking fuel pressure / fuel supply. Modern bikes so complicated. I prefer the Pantah to the 1100evo hypermotard I also have.
Off piste from me here, sorry, but your post prompted me to say I've recently damaged my 1098S and have recently thought 'sod it, I'll get it repaired and sell it'. Also, due to unforeseen circumstances, I'll probably need to sell my Trumpet Scrambler 1200XE. I've thought about doing an S1000RR on PCP @ 2.9% APR, but I went to look at my (yet to be repaired) 1098 in the garage last night and can't really face not having it - I like the lack of electronics - I came into riding late and I think the analogue bike has made me a better rider, or at least or more mechanically sympathetic one. I also like that simplicity and agree with you 100%. Sorry to make that about me but you get the gist!
Big Jim get the 1098 working again ! Great bikes, probably just having an "Italian sulk" lol. Probably wants some flowers
Thank you, and I deffo will mate, just been out of work for 2 months and am retraining - hopefully will have some £ coming in soon and if I DO sell the Scrambler before then I'll get it done ASAP. It threw a belt so am going to my local Hackspace to get an endoscope to see what damage there is before I pay for more thorough diagnostics. Inlet valve is open which doesn't bode well. It's gonna need more than flowers I think! I'll keep you posted.
From the sound of it, the Hyper will become a garage queen whilst he gets on with new resto projects and modern bike reviews. It certainly won't be used as the hooligan it was intended to be, he's invested too much cash and emotion into making it pristine and uniquely his. I feel it's more likely that he'll sell it for a financial loss in order to free up space rather than give it a thorough beasting but time will tell. Chopsy has, understandably, got very precious about it. I subscribed to his channel on the back of him getting the Hyper, I have a 2007 1100S myself ... I've enjoyed watching him bling his bike up almost as much as the 8,000 miles I've ridden on the Hyper since he tore his down.
