uh huh. right OJ. switch costs £17.99 from the local guy, 3way, buuuut doesent say about using exposed to the elements
Thanks @finm The waterproofing isn't really an issue the fairing provides some protection and I don't ride it in the rain anyway. Once I get the rest of the stuff on it done and the 1100 (which is just awaiting a lubricant fill and some minor check before trying it after the build) I'll return to this particular problem child Appreciated John
Easy to wire the ignition switch with a starter position look in the switch block be two wires on the starter function one will become live when the key is turn on and any clutch/sidestand/etc safety lo;cks fitted are closed. (power wire) starter button is normally/open so the other wire not continuously powered wire the (Starter solenoid trip wire) wont become live untill you push the button note the color. go to the connector on the RHS switch and splice a wire onto the non powered wire from the switch unit. use a single connector an fit the other end of the wire to the starter post on the back of the ignition switch? circuits are in parallel and mod only requires 1 short additional wire? as the starter terminal already has power to the switch.?? harder to tell than do?
Thanks @Breakout998 it's not that I don't know how to, I did rewire the whole bike myself, it's just the hassle in routing the wire more than anything. I still appreciate your going to the trouble of instructing me how to connect though, it's a nice thing to do and thank you for it. For now the ignition switch is working so it will drop down the priority list until I get the time in the Winter, I still quite like the idea. So I found the reason for the blowing fuse today, when it fell over the bar struck a wall pretty hard and shocked it. Looks like it gave the switchgear a good punch too and that burst the insulation on the pos terminal on the back of the kill switch, just pin prick size hole but enough to cause a short. Now sorted with a piece of rubber between bar and switch terminals Happy Days
