The Dennis looks pretty serious. The Old Lawnmower Company had one for sale when I went there, that they had refurbished. They normally get bought by cricket clubs, apparently:
I didn't ask. What they told me about my own Ransomes was that i could expect it to keep chuffing along and cutting my grass for the next 30 years. It will be about 70 by then. If a £1'500 Dennis has similar longevity, you'd have to think that that was a snip. My Mac is now geriatric at 10 years old. A new one will also cost about £1'500.
What a great read and a great idea. A wonderful way to remember your father. Sorry to hear of his passing but as you say it’s the inevitable passage of time. I certainly hope it serves you well. ‘I’m closing in’ aka Carl has shifted things around Europe for me, highly recommend and good rates too. I like mowing the lawn and agree that you have to put the stripes down, so it’s good to see your project. I have a mower with a heavy roller but unfortunately ‘progress’ meant it’s a rotary not cylinder..... It’s my only Honda!
