Easier to say in hindsight that he was done imo, he was gaining time on JV and pulling away on a few of the mountain stages before the TT. Definitely wasnt a done deal at that point imo.
Scary how he was nearly three minutes faster than the rest of the field (barring Pog) across a 30 odd minute TT. Pretty sure if he was english everyone would be screaming about peds by now lol.
He's been Mr Entertainment for many years so well deserved in my opinion, Also nice for T.P after his disappointment.
Been a SUPERB three weeks and sad to see it end personally. Probably the most enjoyable sporting event of the summer this year for me. Chapeau both the two boys and I was made up to see Pog win the final GC stage yesterday as a minor consolatio (what a stage btw). Bit of a shame neither of them (or ideally both) will be at the Vuelta next month.
Be French, possibly a Gendarme for Le Tour. On the British side be part of the national escort group, own a large tourer and be prepared to try and out descend a cyclist in the wet on such a heavy beast.
Great tour, nail biting close at times. I like the way poggy races but fair play, vinnegard proved the master this time. Great to watch.
Have any of you tried these or any other cycle route planning apps or have an opinion? http://www.cyclestreets.net https://cycle.travel/map
It may be better in the Cyclist thread reasked? They both look pretty good, I may try one for our forays into Wales on the supermotos.
This has just started to appear on Sky Docs (non-streaming) and i watched it this afternoon. Its fucking brilliant, 2 hours of old school cycling joy, get on it if you havent seen it yet and you love the tdf. The new Greg LeMond feature film is out now — here's where to watch it near you | Cycling Weekly
Never knew that turbo dickhead Richard Keys was a cycling presenter before Sky football came along either.
